Just seen the clip of interview on Twitter / X, where Mareca says one of his regrets from Leeds game in not playing Acheampong.

FFS, we all regretted it as soon as we saw the starting line-up.

Incredible isnt it, and I`m sure he`ll definitely learn from this mistake like all them other times.....

His diary is now at learnt from mistake #101. He surprises me time and time again with new brain dead mistakes. Such a creative guy.

It amazes me, literally every single person watching that game will have been baffled by him moving our in for CB to RB to fit one in whos been rubbish, while also having 2 actual right backs on the bench. No coach I have evert known or played for would have even considered doing that, ever.

Like I said, I genuinely now think he believes hes some kind of tactical genius and needs to show it every game.

LOL. What a load of rubbish

Badiashile is comfortably our worst centre back aerially. 2nd percentile for Aerials Won according to FBREF LOL

Fofana 92, Tosin 92, Colwill 81, Chalobah 50, Josh 39 and Badiashile 2.

So if you want to pick the best available centre backs for aerial ability, and have to rest Fofana, then it's Tosin, Trev and Josh.

So I call "bo**ocks" that they even use the data to decide line ups LOL. All about keeping players they might want to sell in the shop window ...

When you look at Leeds, down near the bottom, manager under stress, playing against Chelsea who were being considered as title contenders, you would be forgiven if you believed they might be scared of us and sat back and tried to hit us on the break .

Not a bit of it , they tore into us , didn't even sit on a one goal lead and continued to attack...

Compare that to our tepid, tired, shameful effort..

Please tell me this is an AI generated spoof.

f**king hell, what a load of nonsense if it's true FFS

Judging by those comments I’m now assuming Tosin won’t even be allowed the shuffle the cards on the team bus let alone play as centre back again.

Let’s see if he’s sticks to it in the next week or so when the “need for rotation” rears it’s ugly head again.

Just seen the interview. He said he played 3 cbs to combat Leeds height. What an idiot. We're better than Leeds so just play your best available 11 in their correct positions and win the game!

The fact you have to fit square pegs in round holes to negate promoted opposition is absolutely stupid.

What next.

I don't like all this "reactive" approach of his. We never set up to impose our best game on the opposition. We're always setting up to counter whatever it is he thinks they might do ... and all that does is consistently bring us down to the level of the opposition and put us on the back foot ...

Classic over thinking, a sign he's out of his depth for sure.

Its a major problem with him, he thinks more about the way the opposition are going to trouble us than how we are going to trouble them.

It’s the absolute mentality of the bloke ‘I must outsmart the opposition by studying them intricately’ Pep mentality,

We ‘play down’ to these smaller teams and pay the price every f**king time.

Jose, Carlo, Conte all had a preferred system and a preferred XI & stuck to it throughout the season whether it was against Manchester City or West Bromwich Albion, the end result? League Titles.

Why do you think I call him £land Pep? He over complicate simple things and that’s never good especially for young players.

It’s actually an insult to £land as you can get some quality stuff there.

It was both. Lack of support, certainly, but starting at this level at his stage of development, against seriously physical oppo, is an entirely different thing to impacting off the bench. The signs were there -v- Arsenal.

Thing is, he'll face teams like Leeds eventually, start him now but give him all the support.

With all the money in the world and access to many facilities and experts, you're telling me a manager can't tweak a game plan that lets a player thrive?

I think that comes from hanging out with Pep at Man City. Always having to prove that he knows more than anyone else !!

I refuse to believe those aerial win stats.

Tosin is chicken sh*t at winning headers, which is so very clear to see, yet he’s in the 92nd percentile?

Yes that one surprised me too LOL

I guess it helps being 6'5" ...

“in life, in any job, there is a level. Andrey [Santos] unfortunately is not Moi [Caicedo]. Tosin is not Wes. They have different skills. They are different."

“If I say to you that Andrey is like Moi, you can understand for yourself that I am a liar. There is a level at all jobs. Like me. Plenty of managers are better than me. Some not. But there is a level at all jobs. So, for me, [this] is the reality.”

Somebody in PR department forget to give Maresca his script
