Somebody in PR department forget to give Maresca his script

Most of that is more of his "bonkers bullsh*t", but the part where he says there are plenty of managers that are better than him is absolutely spot on.

If only Blueco would realise that too and do something about it!

Oh I don't know Bob.

PR department sound like they are doing their utmost to protect Clearlake's golden boy by throwing rotten eggs at Andrey Santos. Club must think we are all blind and stupid - quite obvious where the midfield problem resides, and it isn't Santos LOL. Remind me again who gave the ball away on the edge of the penalty for the second (and decisive) Leeds goal ?

Starting to really annoy me that this guy is now routinely chucking his players under the bus when he is responsible and accountable for the sh*t tactics that inevitably lead to defensive mistakes, plus our blunt edge in attack. Surely can't be long before he loses the dressing room completely if he carries on down this path ? That day can't come soon enough LOL

I wouldn’t be surprised if he had already lost the respect from more senior players like James after the Leeds tactical master class.

I'm not really gonna hammer the whole rotation thing, after all none of us know any better than him in regards to who is fit and who isn't.

I will say though that he doesn't help himself by also playing players out of position.

So, there's no striving to be the best, just an admission that there's better managers than him around, and there's better players than the ones he chooses to play .

Did he really say this about Santos?

This is a joke, right? No way a manager just said "player B is not player A and then says there are people better than me" as if it justifies anything

It's difficult to believe isn't it ?if it's true it's deeply disturbing and unforgivable. I don't know where the source for his comment is from ?

Just seen the clip of interview on Twitter / X, where Mareca says one of his regrets from Leeds game in not playing Acheampong.

FFS, we all regretted it as soon as we saw the starting line-up.

He's regretting it so much that he's left Acheampong on the bench again.

I'd held out help on this guy for longer than most here, but- if the ambition seriously is to challenge for the premier league- he absolutely isn't the man. Such a poor performance today and- most unforgivably- the players weren't pushing at all at 0-0, nothing created/zero pressure against one of the worst form teams in the league.

Had massive momentum after last week to prove he's the one to take us forwards after last week and has absolutely shat the bed. Nowhere near good enough.

Can we stop pretending he's doing a good job yet?

The league position is extremely flattering, two defeats and we could be outside the top 10. We're literally 5 points off 14th, the margin isn't that big at all.

Another boring dreadful game of football where we did nothing in front of goal once again, the attack is completely nullified.

He's basically saying that because one player can't do the thing the other player can do, it makes us weaker. There's a grain of truth to it, but then it's on him to find a way of playing that suits that player. Santos is not the same type of player as Caicedo, so make a change tactically so we can get the best out of him and other players rotated into the squad.

Dave Sexton's Philosophy on Football

Simplicity of the Game

Dave Sexton believed that football is fundamentally a simple game. He emphasized that the essence of football lies in its straightforward nature, where the primary objective is to score more goals than the opponent.

Complexity Introduced by Coaches

Sexton argued that coaches often complicate the game with intricate tactics and strategies. He felt that this complexity can detract from the enjoyment and natural flow of the game. His approach focused on keeping the game accessible and enjoyable for players.

We are painful to watch, you can’t tell me we wouldn’t be in a better position as a club with a manager like Emery here…

Just feel we have reached our limit with him and we won’t go on to where we need to be as a club if a change isn’t made.
