If I may offer some Festive cheer...

When a star player and a manager fall out, its usually the manager who gets sacked and not the player.

hoping the board dont get this simple decision the wrng way around

Ooooo so you are new to this version of CFC 🤣🤣🤣

Same old story. We’re flat track bullies. We can’t cope with the slightest bit of pressure. Comes from the manager.

I don't even think we are considering how often we get pumped against the "smaller teams" who simply want it more.

Sometimes you are unlucky to lose games. But that defeat today is 100% on Maresca.

We were so in control of that game it was almost embarrassing. But any fool could see Emeri would change things and Maresca's answer was to keep on Badiashille and Neto and also throw on Gusto, Gittens and Delap. Handed the victory to Villa on a plate. "Here you go Villa - have some of that - Merry Christmas".

He HAS to go.

Quite honestly, if you're a Maresca apologist, you're part of the problem. The guy is nowhere near the level of manager we should have, he's a lower end of Serie A type manager and that's it. This is the least connected to a manager I've felt since AVB, and that includes people like Potter and Benitez.

I wonder. When we do sack him, and replace him with another useless manager (he is the best of the blueco bunch but still every appointment has been a bad one); will you lot who mostly blaming it on him look at the ownership finally when Rosenior, or whoever, fails or just keep blaming it just on the manager?

I mean it worked under Roman but you might want to clue in these are very different owners to Roman with very different priorities.

The ownership being sh*t doesn’t absolve Maresca of his own sins. We know the owners are sh*t, they aren’t going anywhere though. The owners aren’t the ones playing players out of position, failing to learn from their mistakes and having possibly the worst in game management the game has ever seen.

No. They are two separate problems. Totally agree that our American owners know feck all about soccerball. It's arguably similar to putting Barry Fry and Daniel Levy in charge of the Boston Red Sox and expecting it to work. They wouldn't have a clue.

But new owners won't suddenly make Pepilini a better manager with a different philosophy of how to set up a team and tactically manage a game. Won't make him a better man manager either.

You can have all the experienced players in the world, yet if you keep putting square pegs in round holes surprisingly it doesn’t work.

Certain players continue to steal minutes, like Neto and Enzo, from Estevao and Santos. Why play Badiashile and Trev together knowing it is a weak pairing.

This is on Maresca, regardless of the incompetence above him right now.

Time to bring in Rosenior

Rosenior I feel lacks the PL experience, could argue another Potter-esque 'knee jerk' appointment but Régis Le Bris for me. Stock rising fast.

Edited by the special one

I'm mostly Maresca out, I was actually Maresca not in, in the first place. There is a little bit of me that say's consistency will only come with time and he's done enough to deserver it.

But ultimately I don't think he has the emotional energy to get the best of this group. In addition he's not the tactical master he's been made out to be.

I'm not buying the experience thing any more. We have enough players with multiple seasons and internationals in our squad. He's just not able to get them moving, Being overwhelmed by Leeds and Newcastle in the first half an hour is unacceptable, he should have had the team ready for it, yet those away trips are carbon copies of the same issue.

All that said, I really don't know who we will get it, 22 years ago as we finally saw the end of another tinkering italian who couldn't get any consistency out of his team we where linked with the absolute top brass of management and ended up with an in his prime Jose fresh of the Champions league win. Let's not forget that Maresca was in recruitment pool with Mckenna and Frank, and if we sack Maresca we will probably look at the same type of profile.

Ive been left damaged watching our wingers cutting onto their weaker foot to cross to the back post that either dribble over the touchline or sail well over everyone.

What happens when you don't have any help from a full back or any one else. Its easy and predictable.
