Jhon Duran

Featured Replies

Not got a problem with the signing at all. Seems like a very promising player, young, will challenge Jackson better than Broja or Fofana would.

And we've got lots of games next season to develop him.

Think some Chelsea fans on here need to calm down a bit.

Tall aerial st is kinda what we need but based on what I read, he is not a clean back to goal player like Giroud, he is more of a chaos st.

Signing a chaos st after appointing manager who want to play tippy tappy ball is 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

All this uproar based on a tweet by @guilloarango...

Haha.  The statement 'How Much!?!?' still applies to @guilloarango for coming up with such a ridiculous fee.

He shouldn't cost more than Jackson.

You see, this is a lot more reasonable. Hopefully this is the agreed price.

Chelsea are in talks with Aston Villa over a £25million move for striker Jhon Duran, talkSPORT understands. Enzo Maresca is an admirer of the Colombia international. (via @alex_crook) pic.twitter.com/rBlN6nGPz5

That would be a fair price, though not sure on Maresca being a fan of his part, that seems like Clearlake PR spin.

I think the plan is to continue with Jackson and trust his development. Duran offers something different and could potentially compete with Jackson.

It's much better than 60m on Sesko.

Jhon Duran (F) left-sided Columbian forward – he could be our new Notorious Falcao maybe? A reflex reaction to not getting Sesko?

Save a prayer for some other striker. I hope we have better options than Duran. He seems like a wild boy. But we are hungry like the wolf for a decent striker. . .

I'd rather sign Simon Le Bon, the experienced English forward!

Signing Duran means two things - we don’t get the instant upgrade many are wanting but it also means we trust Jackson to continue developing and will still be our main striker next season. If the fee is reasonable (20-30 mill) I think thats a good decision.Between Jackson, Duran and Nkunku we should be well covered in the SC position with three players offering different things, which can only be a plus

Really can't understand how we want a new manager to finish in the top 4 and we supply him with a player who's started 5 games for Villa.

We literally finished 5 points off Top 4 with an injury crises and Poch f**king up the team 75% of the time

Signing the 20 year old backup striker from a better team to be your backup striker  sounds like a good idea to me

We have Datro Fofana and Washington who both cost in total around 30m.

Now we start again and we will probably sell the likes of Conor to fund these players. We need players to come in and hit the ground running from the get go though I am content with Jackson being first choice but why sign Duran when you have other young strikers on the books who've had 0 chances.

It's poor recruitment, even if Duran is a better player it just shows how much money we've wasted on other players if we have no faith already.

Because neither Fofana or Washington are physical enough or have an aerial presence to hold their own against Premier League defenders.

As far as the last sentence, I am not sure why you are so surprised. Clearlake's model from the beginning was that there will be players who will make it here and there will be players that will be sold on for a book value profit.

I haven’t watched him (due to him not getting games at Villa) but whilst he apparently has potential, 40 million seems very steep! No idea how much he’d cost but evanilson has just had 32 goal involvements in 45 matches in Portugal the season just gone and he’s fairly robust. Guirasy has a very cheap release clause and at his age could allow the fofana or Washington to bulk up and develop. I’m sure with the amount of scouts we have out there the club could find a physically imposing wonder kid in South America and save money.

Although I wouldn’t listen to me I was watching Atalanta in the europa league this season and was impressed by Scamaca thinking he held the ball up well and linked well with the players around him, then realised he was a West Ham flop
