Jhon Duran

So Sconnie would you suggest he maybe worth a go ?

I don't know. Reports Villa want £40m. He's young, will be on low wages, and has high potential. Three things that give our directors a hard on. If he turns out like Palmer, fantastic.

Given who we've been linked with it feels like the club plan on keeping Jackson as our #1.

BREAKING: Agreement between Chelsea and Aston Villa for the signing of Jhon Jáder Durán. It would arrive for a figure close to €50M.

🔘They are negotiating the terms with the player to sign the contract.

Villa were interested in Gallagher. I wonder if this is some sort of trade..

Ridiculous! Put aside the “Jackson remains our No 1..” argument which I don’t have a problem with, you just can’t develop a 20yr old & a 22yr old forward at the same time. They both need lots of game time to iron out their flaws. Do you prioritise Jackson with 14 PL goals last season, or is the newer £50m forward going to be priority?

Guirassy is available for €20m & scored 28 Bundesliga league goals last season, & Dovbyk with 26 La Liga goals has a €40m release clause but I guess at 28yrs & 26yrs respectively they are both too old.

Reading between the lines I believe:

Sesko was our first choice striker, we found out about his choice and are moving forward with Duran.

Alvarez is a none starter, don't believe we are going for him at all.

Jackson, Nkunku and Duran our striker options for next season.

Effectively trading Gallagher for Jhon Duran would make a mockery of the media line that Gallagher's sale is all about "pure profit".

Duran is a great player with a lot of potential but he has all the same flaws and strengths as Nicolas Jackson except instead of cards he collects injuries.

He's still pure profit.

If we do a trade, then we can value Gallagher at 50m on the books next season as a sale and amortise Duran's cost over 5 years. Likewise Villa get the same benefit on the books their side.

Although I assume (surely) Gallagher will cost more than Duran.

Sums these idiots up. They really do deserve what's coming to them. None of us want our club to go tits up but there is a case for natural selection.  They have this fantastic model to create a puppy farm of a football club without the foresight to see that a) any other top flight club could go and do exactly the same if they wished, and b) Its an empty market. Who is going to buy these players off of us in the future exactly. All these pure profit links so far, has there actually been a concrete bid made for ant player ahead of next weeks window opening?

Although just a rumor, sounds like a very expensive number 2 striker. But again, that's how these guys do it, just pray one of them turned into a 150M player and get the investment back.

150m? Maybe if these foreign clubs group together into syndicates, like horse ownership,  and share the player around.

So we have gone from signing a Top class striker to a player who started 3 PL games last season, if he was any good Villa wouldn’t be off loading him, just sign Toney for the same money

Villa want Gallagher...the way I read it was a swap with money on top.

I'm with you lot, even though I don't know much about Duran, he is not what we need to continue jacksons development imo.

Ugh...I just wish these ppl post up actual rumours or info instead of making sh*t up. Its getting harder to tell what's true or not especially with our crazy unpredictable owners. It's getting harder to differentiat between b.s. and something our nutty owners would do.
