I don't disagree there, more the Madueke becoming a top player or even half that of Salah that I have a disagreement with. Think Noni has a bit of the Zaha about him, already peak world class in his head and no reason improve. He will score the odd worldie or some dribble that gets people talking but in the end spend most of his career moaning and gesturing to anyone that will listen.

I honestly hope Maresca has had proper review of the players and the club is listening to the fact that the likes of Noni, Jackson, and Sanchez are simply not good enough and we need to move on and replace them.

I know there was nothing we could have done if Sancho refused to budge on his wages but it really riles me up that Sancho left and we still have Mudryk… He’s f*cking sh*te.

I don’t think he’s done enough to warrant signing. I like him but I wanted to see much more from him. What happened to early form he showed? He’s had a couple of flashes but that’s about it really.

It's a valid point and one that I don't fully understand. I would have thought that this lot would have found another creative loophole. If Osimhen wants too high wages, then why not pay him an annual signing on fee for the balance that is over our wage structure. I mean presumably the money all comes out of the same pot.

Maybe it needs someone to explain it to me but getting away from all the amortisation maths, as a general rule I don't see a huge difference between £105m fee and £100k pw and a £50m fee and £200k pw. If we are so rigid on our weekly wage surely we can get creative for the right player

It's more I think he's the sort of player that won't get any better, from a skill point of view and a mental point of view. Neto hasn't been great but I've never seen him give up mid game and play like he doesn't want to be there like we have done Noni and Sancho.

Out of the wingers you mentioned I think Garnacho would be the only one I'd be pissed off if we signed and I think most of the fanbase would agree with that one.

I’m not going to lie, I feel really disappointed in Sancho, the fact he wouldn’t budge on his wages. It really feels like a waste of his career.

You're first point is definitely plausible but your second point is the trap of looking at things through football goggles that we are all guilty of.

He's just turned 25. They can't loan him out in his last year, so he can sit on his contract for his last year at £300k pw. He can then leave on a free and still being 26 he will have his choice of decent clubs as his stock will stillbe quite high. For his life and his career this is the most sensible move for him.

Watch a number of our fans calling out Sterling and others here who will do the same thing. We are reporting about all these players leaving. We'll see how easy it is.

Thierry Henry's analogy in the latest Overlap podcast is very good. He said he failed so many times to dribble past defenders like Carragher, but nobody remembers this, people only remember the times he dribbled past defenders and not the failed attempts because he never stopped attempting a dribble and if you never stop, you will have success and people will only remember the times you made a dribble and created a goal or a big chance, rather than the times the defender was better than you.

Sancho is the opposite.

I agree. If he'd stayed I would have liked to develop him in the 10, because of his good touch and close control, decent simple passes, vision to see spaces,and can operate without that lack of down the pace being exposed.

H could have been the ideal foil for the right and left wingers working their way into the half space.
