Once we lose control of a game we struggle to wrestle it back.

We're crying out for a proper DM to bring off the bench to help us see out games like this. Glad to see Lesley is finally getting minutes for Southampton, maybe he can fill that role in the squad for us when he comes back...

Santos, surely? Doing very well in France

He will say the same old sh*t “the players were doing alright so i saw no reason to change it” Guiu was standing on the touchline for 6 minutes waiting to  replace the waste of space, ended up getting 10 mins, Noni got 6 mins

Yah... no time to affect the game... 2 problems: 1) He doesn't recognize when the game is getting away from us and 2) Partly due to 1 he doesn't know how to change things and fix the problems... I always enjoyed Mourinho changing 3 at a time when it wasn't working!

Everyone and his cat could see an equaliser was coming apart from one person, so he sat on his hands AGAIN, its a 16 man game now NOT a 12 man game USE YOUR SUBS and give them at least 20-25 mins

Ps - Palmer went missing again in the second half, mind you it helps if they pass him the ball, interesting to see how many touches Gusto, Caicedo and colwill had, im guessing more then anyone else

Knew at half time we weren't winning this game. Nowhere near clinical enough, and we don't keep clean sheets, so the equaliser was inevitable. Just surprised we didn't lose to be honest.

Just 5 games back Marescas name was being sung as was "we got our Chelsea back"

That was jumping the gun, somehow Maresca even has Palmer in the malaise, not even Poch achieved that.

Yes big mistake, it didn’t help shouting from the rooftops “we aren’t in a title race”, the players took him at his word and decided to take their foot off the gas

It's not even just the lack of subs. He literally changes nothing tactically throughout a match, he just expects the team to pull it together and sort it out themselves.

When teams are on top, sometimes it's a good idea to slow the game down when it's back in Sanchez's hands. Hold onto the ball, give them a breather and find a bit of composure, but nope, Maresca wants that ball quickly thrown out into midfield so we can quickly attack. It's just constant chaos, and the inevitable happens. A player gets caught on the ball and we concede.

Our midfield keeps getting suffocated too. Why isn't Maresca helping them by sticking another player in there? Shuffle the team around a bit, have a player drop off into midfield to give the likes of Caicedo a chance. All he is doing is running Caicedo into the ground, who looked completely shattered by the 70th minute.

I can think of one reason. Our striker had more attempts on goal than any other player.  We had one shot on target and it weren't him.

Isak, Haaland, one of Liverpool's strikers, you name it, would have had a field day today. We carved that Palace defence open from every single angle, yet we only scored one. This team needs experience, too. The board did a good job so far, it is a squad full of talent, probably the squad with the highest ceiling in world football, but it's time to bring in at least two or three top players with bags of experience to put these kind of games to bed. Even the Giroud of 2021 would have hat a hat trick today.

Out of curiosity how many Opera browser installers does everyone else have after the game? I have 53

Think that's a bit harsh. I thought Caicedo and Enzo were our best players actually.

Not saying Caicedo was poor, I think hes a great player, im my opinion he's asked to do to much with Enzo in midfield, who is a luxury player, don't rate Enzo, never have.

lack of legs in the final quarter  has cost us again, will we ever learn  when to sub players

and how many times do we have to  watch the opposition  put crosses in  with out doing anything to stop it

But proper teams don't rely on their DMs to squeeze out wins. They get the opposition to open up by scoring against them. Then teams that win things have the ability to counter attack with clinical finishing to put the game to bed.

A lot of stick for Jackson today which is understandable as he had another very poor game.  However it is delecting from a lot of other ropey performances.  Gusto was terrible today,    Cucurella lost Mateta more times than Essex girls lose their virginity, Enzo, once again, totally disappeared when we lost control of the game and obviously Palmer had a mare in terms of the equaliser.

These lost points are not just on Jackson.  Lot more shouldering of blame for this one.

We need to sign an elite striker. Jackson would be a good back up to someone like Osimhen. But he’s not good enough to lead the line on his own. It’s not just a question of taking chances, it’s also about being a focal point in the box. It would bring out the best in players like Sancho, Neto and Palmer if they had a top quality striker ahead of them.

Agreed but with an elite focal point up top and any one ortho of those chances would have got buried meaning that other poorer performances would not have had any major significance in the result.

Forgot this was today. Thought it was tomorrow. Missed it We drew. Quelle surprise 🙄

Should've checked really but I had a plank that was warping and I needed to watch it !!

You should have logged into this match day topic earlier then,  you could have watched a veritable forest full of planks warping as the game progressed and I'm not talking about the players 😉
