I'd throw him in the dep end and have him starting games over Disasi in that RB/CB role until Wes is back.

Absolutely. Kid looks a natural for that position whereas Disasi I see more as a traditional centre back. Also Disasi is one of our weakest first team players.

There’s a little golden generation coming through Cobham at the moment at CB, LB, RB, and CM/DM.

Acheampong, Dyer, Rak-Sakyi, Subuloye, Murray-Campbell, & Samuels-Smith.

Hope you are right because, apart from Cucu and the ever injured James, the rest of our defenders are barley conference league level.

Small sample size and not the best opposition (lol still didn't win) but i don't think we'll miss fofana at all.

He's quick, great touch on the ball, reads the game well and can carry the ball as well as any CB i've seen. I'd like to see how he does against Isak or someone of that ilk but great game today.

I'm sure Maresca will revert back to Disasi next game though.

Unless James or Fofana are fit he should be starting in this hybrid RCB role, it's as simple as that.

This is the post!!

He will make mistakes he’s young but that level of composure and maturity at 18 in your debut away from home is something special.

Palace is not an easy place to play.

Kid is class. Real Madrid do not usually lurk around the English academies and it's easy to see why they were so interested in Acheampong. Well done to the club for not messing this one up. Some extra muscle on and a few years of experience and he's on route to become a top defender. Gives me Saliba vibes in everything he shows so far.

As usual the Cobham player is miles better than the dreck signed by the sporting directors.

They should learn from this. They won't though.

(Narratives aside - very impressed with Josh and delighted for him. He should really be getting all of Disasi's minutes going forward).

I think that’s why Maresca played him against Palace, if he reverts back to Disasi then I would be surprised.

This, I don't want acheampong to start all the time. Player who start their career too quickly tend to have quick burnout
