A proper elite #9, goalie & manager would imo keep us in the hunt next season but won’t happen. We paid Brentford £1 Million to bring in set-piece ‘expert’ Bernardo Cueva. It’s a funny ol’ game.
May 4, 20251 yr I enjoyed today’s game. We played pretty well balancing up everything. A well deserved win.But my goodness, Jackson is absolutely terrible and his attitude makes Nkunku look like the most dedicated player we’ve ever had.
May 4, 20251 yr Author Today's result has also increased the chance both ourselves and Strasbourg make CL. The highest positioned side knocks the other in to the Europa league. I.e. if we finish 5th and they make 3rd we go in to the Europa.

Held us back from making that game a comfortable win.

Forest owner gave up control to circumvent the same thing, although he’s done it in advance, so hopefully there’s no deadline.

No news has come through about that so am guessing we did not do so.

No news has come through about that so am guessing we did not do so.This came up last season too with United and City. Both Girona and Man City qualified for the Champions League, which are owned by The City Football Group and INEOS owned Nice and part of United. From what I understood at the time is that they were only allowed to own below 30% of shares, or put all of their shares into a blind trust that UEFA would oversee. I think both The City Football Group and INEOS chose to transfer their shares into a blind trust. It's actually a pretty simple rule to get around, because all shares get transferred back at the end of the season.
May 4, 20251 yr Great win well deserved. Hopefully Cole can keep that level up for the last few games. Utc.
May 4, 20251 yr Other than improving out Champions League chances, I think winning against a top side is a big thing for this group. They've been coming up short every time until now.
May 4, 20251 yr Had we not lost those 5 points to Ipswich, we would have been home and dry for the Champions League. I hope we can make it.Very happy with the performance today. Very impressed with Noni as well today.

May 4, 20251 yr We’re a completely different team when Lavia plays, superb footballer, praying we can keep him fit.
May 4, 20251 yr A nice win and while I was expecting a point at least, 3 points was more than I hoped for and hopefully gives us some momentum in the remaining games. Liverpool were more or less on the beach TBH, while our players at least put the effort in to remain with a chance of CL football...Nico on the other hand; well one game decent and the next his brain's gone missing in all aspects of the game. He is pretty much being carried at times and while he may appear to put an effort in with all the running, he 's running into the wrong space at the wrong time carrying two left fee. He needs to go back to the classroom and understand what his role is as a centre forward, perhaps a few video's of Didier might help. And while this game papers over the cracks for Maresca, IMO he has to go in the summer because he is suppressing these young players with his negative possession based football....at least Sanchez today was kicking the ball long and appearing to ignore this nonsense of playing out from the back to negate the Liverpool press.
May 4, 20251 yr Brilliant performance overall. Liverpool were thankfully on the beach which made it easier. Conceding at the end was frustrating but the team responded well. Defence and Midfield were both great. The attack could have been a bit sharper and killed the game earlier though.
May 4, 20251 yr I know people think that Liverpool were on the beach but, we were on to them from kick off and never let them off. And, we played really good, fast football, with few side or backward passes. We were relentless and progressive. To me that’s something to praise our players for, for the first or second time time this season too. I think that today it’s more on our team playing good football than Liverpool being on the beach. Playing like that, we’d have beaten them anyway.

That was the deadline for this.
May 5, 20251 yr Over at Strasbourg they appear to be talking about the ownership/management change as if it were a formality, that the board would be replaced by an independently appointed group by UEFA. There are comments suggesting that any European football would be a positive be it Conference, Europa or CL. Edited May 5, 20251 yr by OneTommyLangley
May 5, 20251 yr We got Liverpool at the right time amid their title celebrations, so good to take advantage of that.First win over them since March 2021, so it's been long overdue.
