I think he was thought to be replacing Nkunku/Felix. I don't get this buy 100% but I think his versatility is why he was interesting to us. I can't tell to be honest.

Hard one to reconcile though as we've signed a player to replace two players that we still have. One of them doesn't play and the other is on his way back as an unwanted loan.

@timetowaste noticed you rolled your eyes at this one, would love to know why

Well as I mentioned before I think he's a better player than Jackson and Madueke who were both starters for us last season. Nkunku to be honest I don't know if post injury he's not very good anymore or if he's just lazy and doesn't want to be here.

From what we've seen in the CWC I think Pedro fits perfectly for that role behind Delap which frees up Palmer to go wide where I personally think he's at his best. Not to mention that Joao Pedro is very versatile where he can play as a second striker, main striker or on the left. He's also been successful in the premier league already so we know he fits the league well.

I know that you'll probably bring up some stat that claims he isn't very good but from the games I've watched and how we play football I think he definitely improves the team.

Chilwell, Sterling and Felix are not very easy to move if you want some money off them. Buying Felix I never understood although he was pretty good in some games. His head is gone. He is a vagabond.

Many of the young players we have are much easier to maneuver. Clubs want top talents and we have a couple of them. Not all of the will work out. Never seen a club do 100% with player dealings. If we do buy Sporting we will have another club to nurture talent. I think Strasbourg worked. Having satellite clubs in general is another conversation.

I don't know the exact squad size but we need at least the same amount as this season. Naturally PL+UCL is a different animal than PL+UECL but I don't think the club looks to win UCL. I think making out of the group stage should be a good result.

Anyway selling is a big task for the club in the summer. No qualms about it.

Currently we have 50 players in the squad on Transfermarkt

I just can’t work out where he plays for us? People mooting he’s been bought to replace Nkunku/Felix who, Ya’know, also didn’t play for us.

There is no position for him in this setup that doesn’t involve removing a better player to accommodate.

Much like the Gittens transfer this seems a terrible amount of money for someone who doesn’t Day 1 improve the side. Especially considering the availability of Eze, Kudus etc for similar price tags.

He’s a defensive liability…. Apparently he likes to dribble in the wrong area!…… joke, I know nothing of what u speak.

I think he’s a decent player from what I’ve seen but it seems like a lot of money for someone who doesn’t exactly move the needle.

Is he much better than Jackson? Are we about to sell Jackson for similar money and just kick another accountancy can down the road while looking like where active in the market but not really improving much?

I think that the bigger issue here is that the strategy from our SDs is so transparent and flimsy its ridiculous.

Forget all this data driven decision making rubbish that we are peddled. There are three sources of recruitment.

  • Joe Shields - Man City academy players of a certain period

  • Winstanley/Jewell - Brighton players, those more recently that Jewell had some involvement in recruiting

  • Stewart - French Market, primarily Monaco.

Stewart is burnt cos all of the players helped bring in are crap.

Brighton continues to be a source and continue to fleece us.

Even Shields is running out of City players to tap into. Rogers is too expensive, we already have too many keepers so Trafford probably can't come. Just leaves McAtee really.

There is a mountain to sell, who have they sold. Kepa had a 5m release clause triggered so no work by these blokes. Even the purchase of Delap only happened cos of a similar release clause, else they would have paid way over the odds and he probably still would have gone to United if they'd won the Europa.

If the Hato rumours pan out to nothing, expect links to Estupinian pretty soon.

You forgot

  • Ben Roberts, goalkeeping recruitment expert for goalkeepers called Robert Sanchez

Ben Foster has something positive to say about our new signing

And conversely, something negative about an existing employee and colleague. (an employee that we wish to sell so would wish to highlight the positives and not the negatives) If i did that openly in my work place about a colleague i would be reprimanded.

Dead against this signing, wont celebrate any of his goals. Hope he spends most of the time with us loaned out abroad or injured. Hate this signing and makes me hate the board even more. quarter of a billion spent on brighton players and only Caicedo is good enough.

Sure Jan.gif

Cucurella has been great for us, and Sanchez has been adequate enough.

Pedro will be great for us, his work rate and ability will give us something we were lacking from our attack last season.

More ballers in the team will give more room to Palmer, Delap, Enzo etc.

hahahah.

Cucurella is absolutely rubbish defending. Lovely player and I like him and his commitment but hes total toss defending.

With a packet of sweets and a cheeky smile.. is a chant Oppo fans will sing at us and him like we did Wenger.

Palmer was a baller until Maresca told him to pass to the keeper or defender. We win games when he decides to be a baller.

Sanchez is adequate enough? That's a joke surely? The guy is a liability.

"I think Chelsea will really appreciate that. I think that’s the bit they’ve been missing with Nkunku and Jackson – that real pressing, really shutting someone down with intent."

Has he ever watched Jackson play? What a ridiculous comment.

Ben Foster works for us?

Not Ben Roberts. But perhaps we can sack him for it anyway?

Foster is spot on. Jackson runs around like a headless chicken - but presses like an amateur without tactical nous or intelligence. His bull in a china shop shtick does not constitute good play.
