Realistically we aren’t beating Barca with how sh*t we are so could very well not make it through to the next round here

Hate to say this but tbh I hope we don't...I just want that c**t out of our club!

I can't recall a worse individual performance than this one from Hato

It was bad but still not Bakayoko v Watford level!!

We are simply not good enough to rest players and give youngsters a run out in a CL game

It's the Champions League, not the Conference League FFS

The problem is, the players that we class as out second string, this mob have paid top dollar for. The amount of money we paid for Gittens, would be a record signing for half the clubs in our league. We've all been saying it form day one. This is the strategy in full painful motion, left in the hands of an oaf. The Alan Partridge of football management

Yes its true that Maresca got his team selection very wrong, but man you would assume that at least some of the bench players we spent so much money on would be able to at least put in an average performance against b** Qarabag.

For me, this is also on our sporting directors. Gittens 55 million. Hato 35 million. How come we have nothing better than George and Tosin after having spent so much money?

missed the game being at work. Looks like bald f**k f**ked it up again. It's been pattern after good game he always f**ks up.

Any idea why bald f**ktard kept Hato on for whole game ? also why dolid he brought Enzo on .. Santos injured ?

Is Hato even a centre back? Thought he was brought in as cover for Cucurella. Why play him out of position alongside Tosin who has struggled all season? It’s no surprise both goals we conceded were from defensive errors by Hato. Why do that to the kid?

Maresca is impossible to like. What successful manager, ever, has chopped and changed his back four as often as he does. Especially the CBs. He is mental.

From the BBC match report.

Are Chelsea rotating too much?

Chelsea have made seven changes or more for the last five matches in a row across all competitions.

They have now made 85 changes to their starting XIs this season – the most of any Premier League side – across their 16 matches.

Mental Maresca the w**ky f**k. Reinventing football and costing us points every week.

We dont need to beat Barca.

But I think the way we're playing this season we are more likely to beat Barca than Pafos

This bloke….

He talks so much crap

The intention was to rest Enzo (Fernandez), to rest Moises (Caicedo), to rest Malo (Gusto), to rest more players, because they are not able to play every three days,' Maresca said. 'They need recovery from last season.

'The Club World Cup affects a lot. We try to rotate. When you win, no one mentions all that. When we don't win, everyone is focused on that, and now I think it's important to recover energy for Saturday and go again.

He was desperate to win the cwc

On the game itself, he added: 'The big difference today for me was inside the box. The goal we conceded, they are silly goals for me. In their box, for the amount of times that we arrived, we have not been clinical enough. So this is the big difference for me.'

Remind us who picked the team?

Who decided to start the game with Gittens instead of Garnacho (who played only 60 mins against Tottenham), who decided it would be George as striker ( when Delap didnt even play against Tottenham), who decided to play Hato instead of Josh ( who didnt play against Tottenham)

So its crap as usual that comes out of his mouth, the truth is he disrespected the opponent (AGAIN), thinking we could just turn up and win

SACK HIM

If you want to rest players, win games early and shut up shop. We were gifted an opportunity to do just that vs Tottenham but he inexplicably ran players into the ground.

To be honest, I thought that the lineup was strong other than the CBs. Reece and Cucu, with Santos-Lavia/Caicedo, Estevao on the right wing, J Pedro as 10, Gittens and George, should be enough to beat Qarabag. Probably Buenanote as 10 and Delap or Guiu would have been my choices, but still I thought it was strong enough. But nope, the CBs were bad but the rest of the players can’t get away without criticism. Such a pedestrian performance is not ok. In my opinion, this is down to Maresca fiddling too much with the starting lineup and with the motivation he passes on to the team. The sooner he goes, the better.

I partly agree. There was a lot out there really lacking in terms of quality. But I have seen some of the very best teams shuffle their first 11 like Maresca did and they almost always look dysfunctional. It just doesn't work, you need to build some kind of chemistry.
