Chelsea won their first European trophy, the Cup Winners' Cup, in 1971 and again in 1998, while Arsenal had not won any European trophies before the Abramovich era. Therefore, Chelsea had more European success than Arsenal during that time.

I hate to correct you, as I can’t stand Arsenal, but they did win the European Cup Winners Cup under George Graham in the 90s. However, the sentiment is correct, we have been much more successful than them in Europe before and after Roman. In European terms, we would be the third biggest team in England after United and Liverpool. I suspect that a Spaniard, Italian, German or French football fan would consider us bigger than Arsenal based on our European successes. An English football fan would put us below Arsenal based on domestic honours.

He used the word "OUTSTANDING" For every player and said it 100 times.

Bore off, David Brent

He doesnt sound like a professional - no composure, no presence, waffle, looks nervous, hesitant, unconvincing.

In a lucky 2-0 win against an in form but fundamentally mid table team everything couldnt really be outstanding, could it?

The media know how to manipulate this bloke, just a little nudge here and there and he goes off like David Brent.

This is the problem when you don’t have the credentials for the job.

How can he criticise players who probably have very little respect for him to start with.

These young players needed someone to come through the door they immediately respected either from what they did as a player or what they have done or are doing as a manager. Someone they wanted to listen to and learn from and who wasn’t afraid to rip into them when they needed it.

They don’t need a mate.

Liam passed little notes to the players . . .just like Jose used to do.

He does seem like an actor playing a football manager in a TV drama. So, he is looking the part. I wonder if there is any real substance there.

My thoughts,

The actor comment above is about on the money, he does seem to be trying to encompass the characteristics of other great managers and it's sadly so inauthentic, which is a shame because he seems like a genuinely nice guy and by all accounts anyone who has had anything to do with him says great things. I hate to say it but I just don't see him having the tools to get the job done..

That said, reading the comments in the thread does feel like there is a lot of bias leading here, we have decided he's terrible so the product on the pitch is under the highest scrutiny.

It wasn't great, we could have lost as easily as we won... but then how many games have we seen this season that have been any different? a handful? I long for game control and winning by design, the truth is we don't have the players, he can take some blame for that Tosin should only be wheeled out if the Kit man can't get him self available but lets be honest, even Trev isn't top top level, Forfana colwill both fit and firering wold be interesting, and I believe Josh could become somthing special but we really miss that claiming influence. I'd say the same about the center mid's, do we have that player who we can just give the ball to and control the tempo? Was supposed to be Enzo but it isn't (And i like Enzo, he will be amazing at real)

Now the good, I think pedro's goal came as a direct result of our constant pressing - we are clearly trying to get the ball back faster and that chance came from players closing down instead of back off.

Ultimately, I feel he will not make it out of the season, he does look like a competition winner, but to early just to call time

Some comparisons could be made between us and Man United the way both managers left over similar grumbles this season but there are notable differences. Man United opted to bring in a similarly inexperienced coach but they have made him an interim as a posed to giving out a 6 year deal. Clearly, they plan to bring in somebody with more experience in the summer, but we are happy to continue with an inexperienced coach as long as he willingly follows orders from above. I hope Liam succeeds but he is up against it, given the combination of expectations alongside the project in place.

Apologies, you are correct. I'll never trust AI again !

Brentford had 15 shots to our 6

They had 5 on target to our 2

Yeah i was looking at the full stats this morning, and we were at Stamford Bridge against Brentford(Nylons)☹️

Im very grateful for the 3 points but this was not an outstanding performance.

Don’t care what he says to a point especially when in full coach babble mode.

I do care how he changes us for the better hopefully. Our next 5 league games are all games we should expect to win. A minimum of 13 points will put us in a good place . I reckon the Villa bubble is about to burst and I’m not convinced Carrick will continue getting results at Utd.

Top 4 is still on but he has to deliver it or he’ll be done as far as the support is concerned.

If they force James out the Bridge will be in full revolt. Heads on spikes, the full works.

They've tried to get rid of Big Trev before and failed miserably. He'll still be here in his fifties, after the revolution, when all the private equity detritus have been killed or imprisoned.

It won't though. The owners will pay for astroturfing in the media, and we'll be given a narrative that claims James' situation was untenable. Rosenior will be duly trotted out to 'explain' the situation some LinkedIn rhetoric. Social media will be awash with primarily American fans claiming that all is well and good in the 'project'.

In hindsight I’ll give him a pass against Brentford due primarily to the illness going through the squad. We probably had 4 or 5 playing yesterday who were still affected by it.

Next 5 league games though are massive for our season. All games that would be disappointing not to win.

Got lucky for sure but it’s a win and a clean sheet. Exactly what we needed however it came about.
