Always got to dig in and defend, but why can't it be the opposite and defend by attacking or keeping the ball?Imagine Spain defending for their lives after going one up against France... They would have lost too, but they aren't cowards

There's the complaint right there and it's the same in every tournament with England. Can't just believe in our own attack, it's always down to the defenders to try and see out the game.
1 hour ago1 hr Just now, axman2526 said:Agreed Val.My point was more that England switched to 6 defenders plus Anderson to see out against a very good technical team, not a lump it side like Mexico. Was too many defenders for me, not enough out ball options or leaders in the middle of midfield.I agree, they couldn't get out and seemed confused on who to pick up/press They were out of puff
1 hour ago1 hr In hindsight, going so ultra defence was a mistake, yes. It was clear that even with 11 behind the ball, Argentina were finding spaces and chances, so swithcing to an extra defender wasn't really going to help with that. The alternative is we push more players up and try to counter and stop them having so much of the ball. Which on paper sounds fine, but in reality, we would have just lost anyway, because they were out running and out fighting us all over the pitch, and were simply man for man, the better team.Still don't own the falklands, though.

1 hour ago1 hr That was a glorious surrender monkey by Tuchel. You can't surrender the middle of the park for that long against Argentina. Then, to compound it, when they equalise with a chunk of time to go, do nothing whilst waiting for extra time

58 minutes ago58 min Whether you rate them or not England have multiple out ball options to send on. Instead the knackered Kane, Bellingham and Rogers were left on to toil. Poor show by TT.

55 minutes ago55 min Disappointing. Tuchel got it badly wrong. England needed to compete in midfield after the goal, not sit back like that. Shame.

We made such play about our wingers yet its only Gordon that has plated well. Rogers was really poor today and Bellingham looked like it was just one game too far for him.You can certainly see why Tuchel tried to rely on some heroic defending ... he said after the previous game that we needed to play better, and we didn't sadly ... almost got away with it.

No morals, no respect and no loyalty. Enjoy your goal Enzo, you’re still a fat little prick that no one wants.
