December 4, 201510 yr http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35005713 Clarkey's been given the boot from Reading as well. A shame as they made a very good start to the season but their form has plummeted in recent weeks.
December 4, 201510 yr Huge step up for Jimmy Floyd, hopefully he's ready, we've seen it before when young mangers are learning their trade in the lower leagues and then take up a job in much higher placed clubs after only a year or two and then their career can stall. As for Clarke, can't help thinking it's his own fault for flirting with Fulham over the manager's job a couple of weeks back.
December 4, 201510 yr As for Clarke, can't help thinking it's his own fault for flirting with Fulham over the manager's job a couple of weeks back. Yep, can't argue with that. On the other hand I suppose it gives him a very obvious next step in his career plan (unless he fancies a reunion with José).
December 18, 201510 yr Everything is easy to call wtih hindsight, obviously. Lukaku hasn't always been so electric at Everton. Falcao was worth a punt IMO - Van Gaal's United wasn't the right fit for him but I thought he'd thrive under Mourinho.

Agreed, thought we won the lottery when we had; Van Persie, Falcao, Rooney, Wilson, Di Maria and Mata as our attacking options but we were let down.
December 19, 201510 yr Agreed, thought we won the lottery when we had; Van Persie, Falcao, Rooney, Wilson, Di Maria and Mata as our attacking options but we were let down. That's Van Gaal's fault in my opinion. Can you imagine how many goals Fergie would have got out of that lot?
December 19, 201510 yr Mourinho is practically nailed on to go to Utd. They won't stick with LVG beyond this season.
December 20, 201510 yr What is Steve Clarke up to these days? Got sacked from the Reading job for flirting with Fulham over the managerial vacancy.
December 23, 201510 yr Damien Duff has retired! One of the pivotal members of our team during Jose's first stint and all the best to him post-football! http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/35156548
December 23, 201510 yr One of my favourite players, who can forget that goal against Barca? It was an unbelievable moment being 3-0 up in the first 20 minutes against Barcelona and Duff's running celebration towards the coaching dugout was brilliant. It was a perfect strike by him past Victor Valdes.
December 23, 201510 yr A great player. Highlights from that game. Damien's goal is 1'30" into the clip. What a night that was. The Bridge was rocking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qaovod6JgM
December 23, 201510 yr Author How good was Ronaldinho's second that night Fluke, shinned it...... The only goal Ive ever seen that actually left me speechless.

The Bridge was rocking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qaovod6JgM A slice of luck for the second goal although the third was as brilliantly executed a counter attack as I've seen us do. Tremendous night, I was in absolute euphoria.

The Bridge was rocking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qaovod6JgM Terry's header, as good as it was, was immensely helped out by Percy messing about with Valdes. He was sly like that, and I loved him for it. How good was Ronaldinho's second that night I remember it going in, and being unable to comprehend how. I think ym thought process was along the lines of: "keep him out there, lads, he's going nowhere....what? OH my, that was rather special!"
December 24, 201510 yr That's the only goal scored against us that I've ever clapped. I was showing my boys the highlights of that game a few weeks ago, the best game I've ever seen - by some distance. And we won!
December 24, 201510 yr Just kinda smirked and laughed a little when that Ronaldinho goal went in. What else can you do against that guy? What a night that was.
December 26, 201510 yr "Choices were made by me. By me. Not by them." "Everyone says it is Mourinho's fault but it is not his fault because I made the decision. I went to his office to ask if I could go. He was the first one to say: ‘Good luck.' I signed the deal with Everton at 11 o'clock and the first text message I got on my old BlackBerry was from Mourinho saying: ‘Good luck, do your best and I will see you next season.' He was the first. Nobody knows that and that is why for me he gets immense respect." "It is really sad he has to go. He is a great character and a great man. Even though there were words said in the media, I never looked at it because I know what he did and not a lot of managers would do that." -Romelu Lukaku Posted this elsewhere, no more blaming Jose for selling him
December 26, 201510 yr How good was Ronaldinho's second that night My seat is in the second row of the MHU and behind the goal. I remember thinking at the time: 'how the hell did he score that goal.' And being behind meant I got a great view of JT's header, The place went crazy. I nearly lost my glasses with all the jumping around and celebrating.
