"Nothing would beat winning the Champions League with Atletico,” Torres said. "I won it with Chelsea, but I was not in a good place. I did not feel I was being treated well at the time -- I felt lost.

"I don't want to talk about those moments. My career is going so well, and I feel so at home and full of confidence, that I do not want to relive those days.

I can understand that to a certain extent, Atletico is his boyhood club…winning anything with them would top anything else he done in football at club level I’d imagine.

You are right though Zola we the fans and club showed Torres a level of support no other would have at that time. He wasn’t in a good place…well neither were we having to watch it, he seemed happy enough to pocket the £150 odd grand a week though…

Had no idea he was with us as a youngster.

If I remember, he was short and stocky, good low centre or gravity, and I think a decent shot.  Talked about how he wanted to one day play for Real Madrid.... another example of earning your right to talk like that

When you consider how poor he was, i think he was treated very well. The club and fans gave him a lot more time than anyone else would have. Maybe he has just worded that wrong but he comes across very ungrateful.

Spoilt little git. This makes it hard to support Atletico tonight.
