August 22, 20223 yr Paul Joyce claiming we are after both Leao and Gordon. The former is keen on a move and a deal will be worked on this week that may include a Chelsea player + cash. Gordon is set to be completed this week in excess of 50m. I mean Tuchel can bring in what ever attacker he likes, but unless the midfield is sorted we will have more matches like Leeds.

I can run like a headless chicken all day long and available for 10 mill. Reckon I have a chance if TT sees my resume.

I'm sure if TT signs you and you too struggle he will blame the team for not executing properly vs our midfield containing Gallagher and Jorginho/Ruben.
August 22, 20223 yr Leao Is a really exciting rumour. We clearly targeted Raphina and Dembele early as priorities so it's been really frustrating how after failing to get either there's been so few links with elite attacking talent. I don't understand how it's take 3 games for Tuchel and Boehly to see most of these attackers just will never perform to the level required. Edited August 22, 20223 yr by HazardousChoice

We can have Prime Ronaldo and it still won't matter if the opposition presses Jorginho and its only Gallagher and Ruben (two players that aren't #6s) are responsible for the transition. We need midfielders.
August 22, 20223 yr Beggers belief that the midfield looks like being the last area for any sort of upgrade. I think there is a certain amount of blindness and "Emperor's new clothes" where Jorginho, Kante and Kovacic are concerned. None of them are much chop for a side that aspires to play attractive possession football. They don't cover the defence very well, necessitating this 5 at the back malarky, nor do they contribute much going forwards, leaving our attack starved of service, and without support in the opposition's box. Given how wasteful our attackers are in front of goal, you'd think we'd be hell-bent on trying to create 20 chances per game in the hope of them converting say 2 of them. As it stands we are celebrating if we even see a forward pass in our own half, let alone a pinpoint through the lines pass that puts someone through on goal. Fingers and toes all crossed that the coaching staff are somehow able to fast track Casadei and Chukwuemeka.

We need midfielders. I won't argue. But we're not 1 or 2 players away from challenging we're miles away. There's a lot of issues in the squad. Incredibly amateurish decision not to move Kante on this summer and sign a top midfielder. Still great on his day but the wrong side of 30, 1 year left of his big big money contract and far too injury prone to rely on. But I stand by the biggest thing we can do to improve the squad is to sign some top quality wingers. That allows us to move Mount back to his actual position instead of trying to pretend he's a wide player. Our creativity suffers massively when we end up with Havertz and Mount on the wings and no real pacey wide player to stretch defences. Leao - Auba - Sterling Mount - Jorginho - Kovacic Cucurella - Koulibaly - Fofana - Reece (Both our keepers suck) Seems like a realistic team for us at the end of the window if Leao signs and it seems creative enough for me. Obviously De Jong would slot right in but I think it's far more likely Jorginho sees out his final year here before we look to bring in a holding midfielder. Which is another reason we simply had to move Kante on. Having 2 of our starting midfielders with 1 year left on this contracts is terrible squad planning. It's like we've learned nothing from Rudiger and Christensen this summer.

I've got a dog here that'll out run all of you and give her a Jumbone once a day and she's more than happy. Pay her in kibble and.........just like Gordon she can't play football for sh*t either.

I like thisline up but even with 6 new players in your side, the weakness still looks glaring to me. 2 years from European and World chapions and it takes 7 new players to make us a challenging side, and as you say still can't play out from the keeper. Sad really.

So he likely has some knowledge what is going on there but these links to Leao who apparently would cost more than Lukaku did seems pie in the sky.
August 23, 20223 yr Apparently Leicesters Tielemans is available for 38mill as the foxes want to sell rather than him leave for free next summer. What you think @Gol15 the midfield steel we need? @foxedup are those rumours true, are you actively looking to sell him?

Probably depends on where we would play him
