August 12, 20223 yr Really hoping we go for Nunes from sporting if De Jong doesnt happen, I think we need some energy in the middle of park. I also think Paqueta would be a good signing for that inside right position, surprised we havent seen any links. Could potentially sign both the price of De Jong.

West Ham and Wolves after him apparently. I suspoect our lot will think that he is not a big enough profile, so we'll spend another 2 weeks messing about over de Jong to only fail because it was never on.

Liverpool are heavily linked with Nunes. City would replace Bernardo with Paqueta. Says it all tbh. Shoulhd be all over both players. De Jong will be trying to engineer a move back to Barca or Madrid in 3 years time.

Pedro brought an electricity to our attack that is sorely lacking at the moment, and he never shied away from shooting from outside the box, unlike we do now. And I’ve never been a fan of William, but his capacity to slow down the game and control it when we needed it’s something I miss too. I never thought I’d be saying this, to be honest.

That's not true though is it. Willian was our player of the season when Hazard ghosted the whole year under Jose. Willian was also the players player of the season in 2 separate seasons (15/16 and 17/18) In Franks 1st season there was no Hazard and Willian was comfortably our best winger all season, far better than Pulisic who despite his once in a career purple patch still couldn't match Willians output over the season (output being the weakest part of Willians game) Obviously they're old now but there is a massive massive talent gap between talent like Willian/Pedro and Bums like Pulisic and Ziyech. I actually think Willians reputation suffered due to playing with Hazard who was simply on another level but there's a reason the 15 million different managers all consistently started Willian alongside Hazard while Pulisic and Ziyech are nailed to the bench while we start central players like Mount and Havertz out of position on the wings over them. He seems like a decent player, but surely one more for the long term? I mean we have some CM players currently. Ziyech being linked to Man Utd? It's amazing how quickly fans memories become fuzzy when a player has been gone for a few years. The way Tuchel want to setup this team especially in term of keeping the ball all the time is just Willian specialty.

He is above all a Chelsea player, hasn't done too much wrong in his time with us and always gives effort. I just think he has not fitted into our systems very well but will do someone like Celtic or Fulham a damn good turn.
