August 25, 20223 yr Seems quite a positive reaction to this news, with Di Marzio reporting he is on his way to sign. Some fans think he is good enough to join the front 3 right away...

August 25, 20223 yr Are we even allowed to sign Russian players with what's been going on over there? Not sure the standard of the league in Russia, but good record at 19. I'm a bit surprised we haven't made a play for Belotti, he's been a free agent for months. I know he's lined up for Roma, but so far hasn't happened after weeks of negotiations. Proven goal scorer and free transfer, surely worth a look in.

August 26, 20223 yr I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about this young upstart, not sure it’s a goer, what with sanctions etc?
August 26, 20223 yr Another teenage midfielder ? I suppose if we sign enough of them, one will turn out decent by law of averages ! Chukwuemeka Casadei Zakharyan

Good point - after all the stick Roman got, sanctions, and bans against Russian sports team/people, I am surprised we would be allowed to put money into the country.

The Government will put a stop to this. There's no way they'll let £15m head to Moscow.

Chukwuemeka Casadei Zakharyan Are we going to do the same every transfer window or are we hoping this is the year all the top talent in world football emerged? World class player don't appear every year, most wonder kids end up being average after all the hype anyway. With any luck one of these players can fulfill the hype, but we're probably selling them on for profit in the future like some kind of Clearlake footballer portfolio. The flipside of this line of thought - are we signing these young players now with the view that they will be quality within 2-3 years and therefore signing them cheap and avoiding paying £50,£60£70m for them down the line. Similar to what we did with KDB (Didn't work out for him here but the quality was there to see) and Courtois. I don't mind this approach to the transfer market. As well as the players that have come into the first team this season we have signed: -Slonina -Chukwumeka -Casadei -Hutchinson -Sturge And now potentially this Russian lad, they all seem to be players that look like they can step into the first team and hopefully save us a bit of money down the line.

I agree. I just have a feeling we won’t have the patience to blood these young lads into the first team over the next few years. We’ll likely end up buying ready made established player that will block their path into the first team.
August 28, 20223 yr knuckle dragging bone head. . . yes Ross Barkley. Dross Barkley. Chelsea are about to terminate his contract. Nobody wants to buy him. Everybody knows he is a d**khead.

Yes it's a good approach but we still have to be choosey. One game proves nothing either way but, I watched Chukwumeka at Kingsmeadow on Friday night. If I hadn't known, I would not have guessed that he was the most expensive Chelsea player on the pitch. A very run of the mill outing from the lad. City's RB Larios on the other hand is an exceptional talent who we will hear much more about in coming years.
