If I remember correctly, he had some interest in the summer but we were careless in our approach and risked being reported for tapping him up. So, we ultimately backed down and he signed a new deal.

Seems he's happy to sit on his arse and collect £6.24m a year from us. Looked poor to middling for us when he got minutes - Championship level really, so suspect any interested parties wouldn't be willing to pay anywhere near the ludicrous wages we're paying. His contract has 18 months left to run.

Brilliant player on his day but his injury record is terrible, he'd fit in nicely with us.
