We were doing our best to ship Cucurella out on loan in the summer, once he returns from injury he's the obvious candidate for a sale I think. On much higher wages than he should be, can't defend, can't attack.

The ridiculously long contract is a bummer though; he will have 4yrs to go in the summer. We will need at least a £40m fee for him to balance the books.

Sporting bought him after a spell for Coventry he also plays for Sweden and is only 25 which is within Clearlakes preferred investment policy. 

I saw quite a bit of him for Coventry. Very effective, one of those players who looks a bit too good for the Championship but the PL is a big step up. The Sporting form is hard to judge, it's a pretty average league. The money is crazy.

He scored 11 in 16 matches for Lisbon agree he will never know until tested. After Nukunku being injured kind of think any established striker is going to be one step from a serious injury.

Broja is likely moving too with three clubs interested.

Then I say we move on. Not convinced of KWP at either flank and he doesn't really improve us. Chilwell and Cucurella should both be back by next month. 

Whether Chilwell will actually play LB though...

I think it is a little optimistic to think Cucurella will be back by next month. He might return to some training in February but I suspect he won't be available for first team until March earliest.

Tuchel now wants to buy Trippier from Newcastle. Newcastle need some big sales to balance their books, why not buy back Livramento. He can play on both sides, and makes more sense than the KWP links. Long term if James keeps getting injured we would have a perfect replacement in place.

Risky move imo. Missed 3 training sessions before Xmas with no warning and has returned back to his club 17 days late. 

Not to mention all the heavily reported issues throughout his career with the blackmail scandal etc. 

Not the kind of personality i'd want around the club.

I just don't see a world where dropping a Benzema shaped bomb into our dressing room works. We don't have strong enough personalities to stand up to him and im certain it will bring out the worst in the young players we have, which we'll be left with then when he decides the Saudi sun isn't too bad come July.

A lot of that is media hype and perception though isn't it.

One of our finest players ever was publicly dragged through court over being an alleged racist, was outed for shagging a teammate's missus and was reported as having a major gambling predeliction. Still one of our best CB's ever and could probably play for us again now.

I think that if we had Benzema here on a short 6 month loan and he scored a dozen or so goals and helped us move to the fringes of Europe, the majority of people wouldn't give a monkeys what type of bloke he is 

Terry even promoted a scummy NFT a while back too that went bust. 

6 months of Benz wouldn't be terrible. 

Genuinely shocked people are willing to drag JT to sign a 36 year old striker that pays for sex with 16 year olds and is notorious for his poor attitude.
