January 28, 20242 yr If our major business for a striker is going to be in the summer I’d probably go with what we have until then. If Broja goes then maybe someone could come in but we already have Washington. Jackson and Fofana who’s on loan. If Jackson and Washington are going to make it at Chelsea then they have to be given opportunities and where we are right now is the ideal time as we aren’t going to challenge the top four or five.

January 28, 20242 yr French media doing the usual Jonathan David to Chelsea story. Modern day Hulk to Chelsea Story.

But the plus side is Callum Wilson only needs one leg to be an upgrade on Broja. As a short term stop gap we could do worse. you wouldn't bet on Broja being a better player than Wilson in 3 years time so at £18m it's not a bad move mid term. Always good to have a player on the bench who can grab a goal. But I just dismiss any rumour of us signing a player over 25 those players aren't on Boehlys football manager filters.

I doubt Washington will get too many opportunities this season, or we would have seen him feature more now, while Jackson is away.
January 28, 20242 yr Wilson is apparently a real option if our buy obligation of Broja is met. Given Wilson's injury record you put that with our medical team and we will get a player that makes Reece James look as reliably fit as Gallagher.

Wilson has certainly had his injury issues, but he still managed 36 appearances last season, and 20 so far this season. We could only hope Reece managed anything near that.

While he is obviously injury prone, he went from joint top scorer in the Bundesliga last season to being unable to feature for us for more than five seconds without getting injured.

Seriousl;y do we really think anyone would agree to an obligation to buy on Broja 2 days before the windows end. JUst can't see it happening in time tbh

January 31, 20242 yr We don’t need a short term striker. Nkunku should be like a new signing once he gets up to speed anyway.
January 31, 20242 yr Nostalgia telling me this morning a deal for Hulk is almost over the line. I miss those days. Every club in the world were linked every window.
