Huge difference between a questionable business decision in retirement and scandles that actively involved dragging down other player on the team you currently play for. 

Say what you want about Terry, the bloke loved the club. If people want to pick holes in his character then power to you, but it didn't directly impact the dressing room in was an influence on. 

Benzema has zero reason to give a single f**k about our club, especially on a 6 month loan. If he wants to f**k about and cause issues, the worst that would happen is he gets to go back to earning 1m a week. Id rather finish 12th.

Tinted glasses off, the NFT scandal was simply the cherry on top to Terry's appalling actions as a human being. 70-80% of crypto/NFT startups are designed to be fraudulent and it isn't like Terry is short on cash. Being a predominate figure ignorantly promoting something fraudulent is disgusting.  I also can't imagine the "f**king Black c**t" controversy didn't have at least some affect on the dressing room afterwards. It also cost him his England captaincy.  

That being said, I agree. Far too much baggage on Benzema.

Issue is I don't think Broja is as good as that Rogers lad from Middlesbrough.  I think Villa bid 8-10 million for him. We want 50m for Broja. He's going nowhere at that ridiculous price.

I can’t see us doing much first team biz this window unless it was to loan a striker. And Benzema is the only loanee of football quality even remotely close to available. Benzema no doubt has some black marks on him but they have been examined by courts and associations and I don’t think it’s for us to be turning our noses up when he was selected for France after a long period in the wilderness. 
 

the real question is whether he is fit enough for a very tough h2 in the premier league. Can he push Jackson out and add enough to make the cost worth it?  Very hard call.

He fits the bill. Young and relatively little experience in the Premier League. Not sure about his injury record.

I suppose we might get to see him play on Friday.

Yes it’s worth it. He would be our first choice striker when fit and I’m pretty sure he’d get a fair few. I can’t see us getting anyone better in January for that price, especially not with PL experience.

Agreed. He would be a great option to bring in for a few years and might be a good mentor for some of the younger attacking players. Injury record is a noted concern but hasn't stopped us in the past. In fact if anything that is probably why we are linked with him

Sadly very true ... I just looked his history up and he's had 11 hamstring injuries, 2 calf injuries and 1 knee injury just in the last 5 seasons ...
