Seeing links to Dybala this morning, with outlets touting a 12m Euro release clause to non-Italian sides.

Surely if such a clause existed he'd have been snapped up by someone a while ago?

Only comes into play for a couple of weeks in Jan I think. It’s a nonsense link mind you, makes no sense. It’s his agent trying to get the best deal out of Roma.

Brilliant player on his day but his injury record is terrible, he'd fit in nicely with us.

Bold part is key; more of a cult figure than a brilliant player. Way past his peak now, scored 20 Serie A goals in 1-2 seasons, and has 3 goals for the Argentine national team.

Lautaro Martinez is the superior player for me; has 3-4 20 goal seasons in Serie A, and already has 16 league goals in 16 games (could potentially hit 30).

Martinez is definitely a superior player now and actually a striker, Dybala is more of an Nkunku. And an obvious different is one is €12m and the other is about €120m.

Id say Dybala at his peak was definitely more than a cult figure, great scoring record at Juve and Roma despite not being a number 9.

That being said the Dybala link doesn't really make much sense and I doubt there's much substance to it.

Still has 11 goal contributions in 13 league matches this season tbf.

Think its a lazy rumor. We have Palmer, Carney, Nkunku, and Enzo/Gallagher in these supporting striker roles.

None of Carney, Enzo or Gallagher can lace Dybalas boots in that role.

Said it when it was rumoured in the summer and will say it again Dybala for €12m would be the best signing on paper of the Boehly era by a significant margin.

Brilliant player but given his injury record and our inability to get players fit I don't know how much of him we'd actually see and I don't think we'll be in for him.  He's at least 9 years too old for Boehly.

Timo to spuds 🤮🤮🤮

And like clockwork, the Salah/KDB mentions already flooding the twitter/social media space. Oh well he didn't do well at Chelsea but neither did KDB or Salah. 😂

As if people are blatantly ignoring how Havertz and Mount are fairing at their new clubs. Werner was apparently poor at Leipzig since we sold him back to them.

Think the club need to focus their attention on LB and ST primarily. Not this window necessarily but starting next season we need upgrades.

surprised that he only has 3 goals for the argies.... would have expected more

Likely because the player starting in his position is some player called Lionel Messi.

Lautaro was fully entering Higuain/Aguero territory before Scaloni wised up and replaced him with Alvarez.

Lautaro, with the pressure off his shoulders, I imagine will do a lot better with Argentina.

Big links with Evan Ferguson today.

Ticks all our boxes.

He's a striker which we desperately need.

He's a child which no doubt peaks Boehlys interest.

He plays for Brighton which is always a positive as it's the one team our scouts look at other than school teams.

He can barely get a start and will cost over £100m.

Textbook Boehly signing surprised he isn't here already.

Napoli could make a move for Chelsea's French defender Malang Sarr, 24, as they look to bring in a centre-back in January. (La Repubblica, via Football Italia, external)

Oh please let that be true LOL.

Player plus cash for Osimhen perhaps ?

Someone making an April fools joke a few months early.

As soon as I saw that rumour reported I thought exactly the same as you’ve typed. 100m plus for a teenage squad player from Brighton is the quintessential Clearlake Chelsea signing. My only doubt is whether his injury record is bad enough for us. If he’s currently out with a double foot amputation then it’s a 100% done deal!

Unless we are buying their whole coaching and medical teams, doesn't make much sense buy another 100M player from Brigthon. I would buy Lewis Dunk through, just the kind of no nonsense defender with leadership skills. Silva is playing well in the late 30s, there are quite a few good years left in Dunk.

BOOM: Executives at Chelsea have travelled to Brazil to close the transfer to sign Estevao Willian 'Messinho' and trigger his €60m release clause.

Might be fake..

16 years old I believe. Huge fee of true, around what Real played for that young striker with the insane goal record.

Might be wrong but u18 signings don’t count toward FFP? From the clips I have seen online he seems to be the real deal.
