Reminds of that January window when all of sudden we starte getting linked with Ashley Barnes, and Crouch.

Stones at 32 could still do a job, Welbeck is not the right level of player, barely an international level footballer.

Henderson has captained liverpool to the title, but he is way way past it.

Suppose this is the price you pay for getting rid of all our own experience.

I've been calling for us getting mature experienced players but I think there's a middle ground that doesn't involve buying lots of 35 year olds who would be wondering whether to retire or go down to the championship when their current contracts expire.

I feel the owners are trying too hard to Moneyball a good team

A geriatric that played for Liverpool and Cleaning Solution? Pass.

Been cutting the hedges all afternoon knackered, finally so sat down with a drink saw the nameI got all excited thinking we were bringing in a goalkeeper - began reading the article....

and spat my coffee all over the terminal

I don't mind their ages too much, not after Silva, but I just don't think they're that good. It's like the SDs have been tasked with increasing the average age of the squad, and are going round trying to sign any washed-up mid-thirties players with a recognisable name who haven't had the good sense to retire yet.

That said, I do think Henderson could do a better job than Fernandez in our central midfield, but that is quite a low bar.

We don't do things by halves do we??

From one extreme to the other lol.

As fans most of us have beeen crying out for experience, so here we are...

We haven't actually signed any senior player yet, it's all links. Having 1 or 2 players over 32 in the squad is not a bad thing at all. We desperately need that.
Now if they go and start hoarding every 32 year old they can get their hands on, like they did with the kids, then we have a real problem 😅

Listen to the way Bellingham talks about Henderson and positive he his about him I would be in favour of Henderson. He could be exactly what we need.

Welbeck isn’t right but Hendo is

We just never get it right do we , as you say always take it literally to the extreme, no pause and think or balance button.

Can just imagine Xabi having his one to one with SD ensemble and telling them exactly what he wants - trying to think of a sketch that sums these dimwits up in such a scenario and the one that springs to mind and sums them up perfectly is probably the famous " follow that car" scene (for those that remember it) in Return of the Pink Panther with Peter Sellars (Xabi Alonso) and the taxi driver (chose any one from 5 of our SD's)

If Xabi wants him then I'm prepared to give him a chance and listening to Jude & Morgan talk about him so glowingly it sounds like that's how a member of the leadership group should conduct themselves, not like how Enzo acts a lot of the times.

I'm defo on board with Welbeck as well BTW.

Then sell Enzo if he still wants out and bring in Scott or Wharton.

Personal terms agreed for both

Id be surprised if either got near the 150k cap.

Wonder how long their deals are for? 1+1?

Sooner they are in the better to assist Alonso.

Apart from the fact that I hate this bloke, and that I think he is a sh*t footballer as well, at his peak, in his prime, he was made of biscuits then. What a laughing stock this club has become.

I know Wellbeck could do a job, but honestly can anyone see an Arsenal, Citeh or Liverpool signing him ? As for Henderson....... I hope it's a made up rumour.

Not too keen about this move for Henderson tbh. The guy can’t even hop over an advertising board.

7 year deal +1 probably.

Wellbeck will be happy coming off the bench and he still causes teams big problems so I’m much happier with this.
