Our Youth on Loan

Not a bad move that for Bamford, although hopefully he gets playing time.

I don't know anything about the Derby team so a quick look on the BBC and they're actually the highest scoring team in the Championship and their striker Martin is 4th highest scorer in the league with 12 goals.

So they seem like a team that is going to create plenty of chances based on the number of goals they are scoring, anyone have any idea what formation they play because if it is one up front you would assume Bamford won't (initially) start ahead of their leading scorer Martin.

I cant say i know anything abot their team to be honest but you would think that Chelsea would have looked at the teams asking for him and picked the best place. Chelsea must think he will be given a chance there other wise it would have been better to leave him at MK Dons.

Interesting point so I asked this question to a Derby fan, and was met with the following response:

Take it you're a Chelsea fan then?

We play 4-1-2-3. Lots of fluent, passing football and, yes, we create a load of chances, mainly through Will Hughes (who you've probably heard of) and Craig Bryson, our centre mids.

Chris Martin's the central striker and he's been tearing it up as a classic number 9. We like to get the ball into his feet and get runners up to support him. McClaren in his presser today said that Bamford's been brought in as competition for Martin, so if he can hold the ball up well and put away chances from inside the 6 yard area, he'll fit right in. Can't see him starting ahead of Martin though as he's probably been our best player this year. Having said that, McClaren also says he can play as winger, so there should be plenty of opportunities for game time.

COuld we see him back at the end of the season with Mata gone?

He'll move from Zulte Waregem to Anderlecht for the rest of the season,

might go to the World Cup,

join Chelsea in pre-season,

and then it depends on Mou to keep him or send him on a loan again...

(my guess is that he'll be loaned out to a team in top league, unless he's too good by then)
