Don’t be a sheep. About ten years ago, when everyone was buying big blingy watches, I bought one, too. It took me about a year to realise that I was only wearing it because everyone else was, and that, actually, I really didn’t like it. I was going out with mates, driving a flashy car, and it took me a while to understand that I didn’t have to do that. I’ve kept the watch, as a reminder of what I should never be. And because nobody wants to buy it off me.

He's been on tv quite a bit of late, this and Chatty Man I think where he spoke about going to City and NY.

Found that quite hard to watch.

I love Lamps but as much as I hate to say it he just doesn't have the personality to be a team captain on a show, he looked uncomfortable most of the time and just didn't seem to get into it at all. Mind you the show itself was pretty dire and a poor rip off of League of their own!

I was think poor league of their own aswell! To be fair to frank this is completely new for him, and I suppose with him still playing, he has to hold it in a little at times. I would have loved to see him doing some punditry as I think it would be a great insight.

I am sure Lampard will be a pundit once he retires. It will be good for him to get his nerves out of the way on a poor TV show or two

He's got it in him, this is the Frank I know and love, among his other obvious pitch skills.

I didn't realise that Lampard was on social media. 

 

He's just set up and Instagram account and has a Favebook one since November. 

 

On the Facebook one he's banner picture is of him with the European Cup. He made a post of playing Villa and the picture was of him breaking the scoring record for Chelsea against them. 

 

Needless to say, I think it's fair to say we as a club aren't far from his thoughts. I wonder if he'll look back on this season and regret not leaving for New York in January as everyone thought he was going to? 

 

He clearly still thinks about his time at Chelsea so you just wonder if he wishes he'd cut his ties with the Premier League sooner? 

I think he will regret it and regret maybe not staying on here for another season (if that was true we offered a short term deal?).

Must hurt a little to see his close friends celebrating another title win knowing he could have been a part of it liek Drogs or Mikel. Obviously playing is a big factor to Frank but in hindsight he'd have had a fair few games given our injuries and suspensions this season.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing, and we do not know whether Lampard suffers from it.

'I was asked from the top to stay on in Manchester, so it wasn't an easy position for me to be in,' Lampard said. 'I'm not trying to wash my hands of it because I am a man and I make my decisions, but it kind of felt right at the time to carry on playing.

 

'The situation happened as it did and I kind of sat there and, yeah, when you stay on and the club really wanted me to stay on, and I thought I'd play more matches, obviously. It didn't work out that way. I looked at New York and I knew that's what I signed up for. It was a strange feeling.'

 

Bit of revisionism by Frank already about the terms of his contract at City. 

I'm just so glad that things didn't work out differently.  If he'd helped City to the title I don't think I could have borne it.  He should have stayed with us and joined Pete, JT and Drog get the fourth title.

 

But as things turned out, at least we can try to forget where he was last season.  

I think things would have been huge had City of won the Premier League with him there, especially if he had contributed more, he did save them a lot of points in November and December.

 

Since January it looked like we did well to sell him when we did, he was pretty awful everytime I saw him play, yet Pelleigrini still persisted with playing him everytime they needed a goal constantly after he was failing to deliver.

I personally can not belive that he wasn't offered a cut price contract with us. And if that is the case for me it's a sour taste, for as much as I loved winning the league, the image of Frank been held aloft in city colours for his last prem game will always feel wrong

That bit will go Barak. I was glad they at least did something for him.

We've had many legends finish their playing days away from here, and their legacy is safe. (Osgood, Dixon, Wise etc). If they'd pipped us at the post though.......

Drogba came back for a year. So can Frank.

He hasn't tainted his legacy for me.

Will always be a legend for us.

Terry did move above him for me personally after he went to City.

I also share the views of others that his legacy hasn't be tainted! He's still at the very top of legendary status at this club.
