Either would have been massive improvement over what we have now

It was a risk to try and get 1 player playing well (which should never have been done) it's a team game not one to bow to the needs of indiviual players.

Now we need to act and hoepfully we have already made moves and are a wee bit down the line because there is nothign worse than panic buying half way through a season.

RVP would have replaced Torres in the team but not Berba, i think Robbie would still be playing Torres even if we got Berba.

Thats why i think who ever we buy in Jan needs to be a big name, someone big enough to make dropping Torres acceptable to the worlds media. Falcao would be that player. The down side of buying this kind of player is Torres will probably throw a bitch fit (behind closed doors of course or make little remarks to the media like after the champions league final) but no matter what i think if a big name striker does come in and Torres starts warming those lovely seats behind Robbie and Eddie each week then one thing is for sure he will be gone in the summer.

Like any orgasm theres a build up, joy and then a feeling of was it worth the effort.

And this thread is proof positive that post-orgasm conversation is a total waste of time.

How do we know he is frightened of another big buy? After Sheva he went and bough Torres. Roman strikes me as a man who gets what he wants one way or another. I truely think that if Roman wants him then we will get him. He may cost the club a fortune and rise the highest wages yet again but if the big boss says yes then we will see Falcao in the blue of Chelsea.

Never said he was frighten of another big buy fiasco, just that he likes the idea of a profitable club, that earns praise, rather than ridicule of, "we just buy all the trophy's", also because of this stupid new Platinni euro edict, of living within one's means, it has always been the intention of being in profit in x amount of years, it has finally happened, can not see him letting it slip, he has got his holy grail, now we will have to run as a profitable club.

That is my take & opinion of it.

For the sake of public opinion, if we sign Falcao or Huntelaar would you be opposed to us playing with two up top? Would it be possible for Torres/Falcao to both play up top together?

My personal opinion is that if we sign Falcao we will offload Torres in the summer so it would be in the best interest of Chelsea to give Torres chances still, need him to maintain atleast a little bit of form to increase his value.

We could play two up front, would have to rejig the formation though.

--------------------------------Cech

--Azpilicueta---------Cahill--------Terry----------Cole

------------------------------Ramires

--------Hazard-------------Oscar------------Mata

--------------------Huntelaar---------Falcao

I don't think that would really play to our strengths, as we have a lot of central midfielders. I think we've always played best in a 4-3-3 like Jose brought in.

--------------------------------------------Cech

----Azpilicueta-------------Cahill------------------Terry------------------Cole

--------------------------------------------Mikel

-------------------------Ramires---------------------Oscar

Hazard------------------------------------------------------------------------Mata

----------------------------------------Falcao

Only problem with that is Mata is wasted out on the wing, he's much better centrally, so whoever plays at left back would have to get forward a lot to give us width when he drifts inside. Similarly with Hazard on the right. I'd prefer if they were out and out wingers, but they're not, so have to work around it.

I love the look of that second formation, could be risky though...

Also, anybody else agree with this?

I know I do

If you're going to play two up top I'd love to keep Torres and have him in a partnership with Falcao.

We won't play with two up top because it would make our midfield very lightweight - or we will end up dropping a far better player like Hazard/Mata/Oscar in order to play both. A flat 4-4-2 won't work because Mata and Hazard are traditional wide men who can assist in the defence

Essentially the best formation with Torres, will involve him being SS behind the poacher but when we have guys like Hazard; Mata; Oscar; Lampard capable playing that position to a far greater degree it's a pointless ploy.

I don't know if he did it himself ( but it is his official group as far as I know) and if so what he wants to say. Just seen it on Facebook. Does he miss Liverpool?! Well Nando if you do go the hell back there!

We tried Torres up front with someone else before, didn't work did it.

Rumours that he has asked to go back to Liverpool and the clubs are in negotiations.

I heard this too, and also that Suarez is leaving Anfield next season, now he's realised what a dinosaur of a club he plays for.

genius 4th goal, well worth the 60 mill euros and thewages

makes me cringe to think how much we've wasted on Torres all things considered. Especially when we could have gone in for player like Ibra, Aguero, Falcao or even Suarez (yes I know he's a c**t, but so is Ibra - both top class forwards)

I seriously doubt this... :face_palm:

Any move would be back to Spain, mark my words.

Why not sell Torres in January for 15m and bring in Llorente and Huntelaar for a combined 20m

Don't see the point in getting both really, one or the other would be better.

Am I the only one that wants to see Marin, Moses and Piazon/Sturridge get a start against West Brom? Our creative trio and Torres need to be rested for Juventus away in honesty.

Not just you.

I think this season he has been much improved.

If he was sold we would need at least 2 strikers.
