I never said it was THE reason but it has to have had some impact otherwise the interim job would have gone to a good manager. And the fact that Torres has started to put effort in again just pisses all over RDM's sacking...why couldn't he have put that effort in before?

So Torres never put any effort in under Di Matteo or was it just the WBA game?

There were obviously more games the west brom game is just the case in point but as Torres's secret admirer I'm sure your going to look to take the argument further coz god forbid anyone bad mouth him and his attitude

Your above quote either means you don't know much about World football, or it is a widely sweeping statement of disparaging proportions!

Does it? I'm having trouble thinking of a player who provided less of a return on investment than Torres. Sure, he isn't the worst player around, but he almost assuredly is the worst value due to the sheer size of the investment in him.

£50m transfer fee, £170,000 per week and he's scored a grand total of 24 goals in 93 matches. When you consider that his transfer caused a significant increase in Terry's wages, it looks even worse.

Put your claws away sweetheart, I was just asking an honest question, no need to get your knickers in a twist.

I won't bother to take the argument further though as you just seem to cook things up in your imagination and continue to miss the point whilst doing so.

Hard to think of one when considering the money spent combined with the return, in fact I just worked out he actually currently has a worse goal/game ratio than Shevchenko.

Obviously there was no transfer fee but in terms of a return on an overall investment Winston Bogarde has surely got to be up there after a 4 year contract worth £40K/week and contributing pretty much sod all.

May i be so bold as to replace that word with, 'assume without any proof whatsoever'..
Thanks

The game against west brom is proof enough, how many shots did he have, how many runs did he make, sturridge outshone him in the last 20 mins having spent all game out wide. To me that is physically seeing him not put the effort in

Sturridge may have outshone him in the last 20 minutes, but what did he actually contribute to the game? The exact same as Torres, absolutely nothing, Sturridge was wasteful once again, but its the effort that counts eh?

And bringing the West Brom game up, that was an awful performance overall, not just by Fernando, but by the entire team.

I've supported him and stuck up for him in the past. But seriously, how can anyone still think Torres deserves to wear a Chelsea shirt? I'm sick of him and the sooner he's gone, the better. He's becoming an embarrassment to our great club

Torres is not the only embarrassment. I hope he goes because he is utter sh*t. Roman has caused all of this no one else is to blame.

He has a pair of w**kers, in Buck and Gourlay, in charge and he has hired the most despised manager to the most important part of the club - Fans!

Disgraceful and shows no respect or interest in the fans!!!!!

Let me quote myself, Torres isn't to blame - it's the f**king board that bares 100% of the blame

To me at the end of this season, it's not Rafa who should be sacked first and foremost Buck; Gourlay should be out the door well ahead of trying to use Rafa to wash their hands from responsibility yet again.

It's those 2 who after our CL Victory went out of their way to tell Torres that he is going to be an automatic starter after his rant.

As much as I think it should happen I don't think he will be gone in the transfer window. Roman seems far too stubborn for that. But we must surely have a target lined up to come in as our starting no: 9.

We always knew we would miss Drogba when he left but we are now effectively playing without any centre-forward at times.

You have measure the top players in BIG games the chance his missed with only the keeper to beat from 5 yards with the goal gaping in the World Club final sums up his Chelsea career I am afraid.

Didier Drogba would have buried that chance.

Falcao would have ripped the net in half given that opportunity.

It's the end for Torres and probably Benetiz and quite where we go from here is anyone's guess.

We have lost the will to win, with players like Torres in our ranks things can only get worse.

I hate the bloke to be honest, possibly my NO1 with Jokanovic just behind a table of three, for me Torres is worse than Alan Mayes or Dave Mitchell a complete and utter waste of money.

How much we paid is besides the point, the board deciding this summer that after his 24 hours without a goal he is good enough to be an automatic first choice at a club which just won the CL is a joke. Literally any half decent striker would have been an upgrade including Sturridge.

i cant imagine the club not signing a proper striker come january. doesnt have to be falcao just get a proper striker. lewandowski is available and wouldnt be too expensive
