I've never seen a striker so reluctant to get into scoring positions. It's just so bizarre. The reason Torres' scoring record is so poor is not just the ones he misses but the reluctance to gamble and anticipate like any other striker. He seems to have no desire or hunger to score goals. If that's just a confidence thing or not I don't know. If he has lost his pace then he needs to adapt his game.

Torres was so late getting in the box Roman had to dock 30 minutes off his pay.  Utter gutless performance today, he has about as much pace as the 'speed of a striking slug'.  Still, looking on the bright side he may only play another dozen games and his agony will be over if Roman and Torres have any sense.  How the mighty have fallen and hopefully he will be taking the fat twat with him.   Guaranteed to start against Brentford as the fat twat needs him to score goals.

This is the problem. There is absolutely no logical reason why Torres would start against Brentford.

Apart from the fact that Ba is 10 times the player Torres is at the moment Ba has had a 2 week rest now and Torres has started the last 2 games and played the full 90.

My fear, as you say, is that the fat twat will feel that even Torres can bag a few at home against Brentford and if he can notch a couple of goals it will make the fat twat look good as part of his pledge to Abramovich was obvioulsy that he could get Torres scoring again.

Fatty heaps praise on Torres at every possible oppertunity and If he think he could get a coiple of goals and make fatty look like he has done something positive towards his play I am pretty sure he would go with that option over and above picking our strongest 11.

No doubt Ba will come on for the last 9 minutes though.

You've got to feel sorry for Ba, before he joined us he was pushing for top goal scorer in the league and now he has no chance. If he had stayed at Newcastle then he could still be up there. Instead he is sat on the bench watch Torres blag his way through each game.

There is on end to the bullsh*t FSw will come out with in support of Torres. When will this Liverpool-induced nightmare ever f**king end and the both of them sod off for good?

“We have to create more opportunities and the strikers will score more goals,” Benitez said. “His work-rate today was really good and thanks to him the rest of the team, especially the second line of offensive players, they could create.”

Cos apparently balls fired several times low across the six yard box just aren't "opportunities" for a striker to score. Clearly a world class striker like Torres knows there is no point running forward and tapping it in, he is best suited to hanging back incase the defender swings at it, it hits his own keeper, clips the bar, comes back, rebounds off the defender's shin and lands at his feet.

Our most consistent striker for years

Exactly.

When Drogba was here, one minute he would be rolling around like a little kid, next minute he'd banging them in and celebrating on his knee's in front of the opposing manager.

At least with Torres you know what your getting.

Absoutley clutching at straws there is the interim.

Its pathetic and almost as pathetic as Torres was on the pitch yesterday.

The idea of us winning the Europa League when we have just Fernando Torres as our one striking option is utterley laughable.

Just how on earth has it come to this. Good lord, Hillario wouldve offered us more as a centre forward last night. And i say that without any hint of irony or joke - its gone beyond comedy now and its long passed the tragedy stage too.

Its just pathetic.

I think Torres will want to leave in the summer anyway. From what we hear he wanted to go last summer but the club convinced him to stay telling him he will be the main man and the team will be set up for him etc. Nothing has worked, i think he will say enough is enough.

Cannot comprehend the mind set of Torres, and me being one his staunchest supporters, he was dire last night, apart from one surge and superb shot, and well saved(left foot as well), that was it.

But why persist on hitting it long and head high to him, surely they don't practise that in training, cos he cannot hold it or win flick ons to nobody in blue, it was abject and a miserable performance no more than 2.5/10...

IN RAFA WE RUST...

Fully expect business as usual and for him to start against Brentford.

To be fair he tends to score against weaker, lower league opposition. He could be a good investment for a League One or Two side.

He just doesnt care.

Someone said he is like a ghost, he has no heart. That is so true. He has no attachment for Chelsea, he doesnt care if we win or lose. He probably doesnt even want to be here. But he cant do much until the end of the season.

The bigger issue is why does he keep on being picked to start?

Ok last night we didnt have a choice really. Unless we played a false number 9 but other than that he should sit on the bench and we should all pray that Ba doesnt get injured.

Fernando Torres has absolutey no right to say 'enough is enough'!

Whilst I find it very hard to defend the heriachy at the moment one thing that cannot be argued is that Chelsea Football Club have done absolutley everything to help Torres, in fact they have gone to limits i have never seen any club go to just for one player. He has also had a level of support i have never seen from the fans before , certainly more than his 'performances' have warranted. This support has now quite rightly and quite belatedly evaporated as he stumbles from one shambolic performance to another. Whats made the fanbase now reach the end of their tether is that there is now a more capable striker in the squad and Torres still gets more starts despite never looking like delivering.

When Torres leaves, woe betide him if he he has a pop at the club. He has no right. His failings are down to himself, both mentally and phyiscally.

As far as im concerned we've been playing a false number 9 since August.

I think one way or another he will go. He may ask to leave, we might sell him or loan him out. Im pretty sure he wont be playing for us next season.

I don't think the club will be able to. Who's going to buy a crock on £175k a week wages?

Our best bet is a series of loans up to his release.

Fernando Torres - the £100m mistake.

It's probably been asked before somewhere on the last 228 pages of Twathead Torres but wasn't Kezman No.9? it's just that out of the two I preferred Kezman for his over enthusiastic performances and he wasn't such an economical disaster level as Fartnando has been from day one. Look forward to seeing him and FSW getting a Spanish Bull's horn stuck up their arses and sent packing! ¡vete a tomar por (el) culo!

Another poor performance (unsurprisingly). And to think with that £50 mill we could of purchased the equivalent of 25 Michus. Whereas now Michu's value is probably higher than that of Torres

CFC's official calendar 2012 are probably more valued than that of Torres

I still remember the start of the season when we all had so much hope in him, right after those goals he'd scored against Newcastle and Arsenal. Some of us (me included) thought buying a midfielder or right winger in the summer should be a higher priority. How it's all changed...
