Yeah, but it's just too far fetched... This is Torres we're talking about (more likely to score an OG to give them the win, or get sent off or miss an open goal, etc etc)

You never know but the fact we're talking about it probably means it won't happen

N'aww don't tell me you've gone all shy. Come on you have your chance to say what you say on here to his face. Don't bottle it

as flattered as I am by the attention you give me, I'm afraid I have to let you don't gently. I'm straight. Sorry to disappoint you. Maybe now you can go and stalk someone else?

No bottle. Don't tell me your a keyboard warrior?

It's all setup now for Torres to score the winner at anfield in the 90th minute, celebrating infront of the kop.

Highly unlikely, I know. Despite him being nowhere near as good as we'd hoped, a scenario like that would surely have to go down as one of the greatest moments in the club's history, considering THAT goal against Liverpool hands us the title, of course. The fact that he was adored by Liverpool fans in the past would obviously make it that much sweeter. One can dream eh?

Cheers for sharing. I met most of the team in 2011 at that awards night and Torres was the ONLY one who was a mopey GIT.

Initially I felt sorry for him because I assumed he was embarrassed about how sh*t he's been.... perhaps he still is.

The good thing is I have a picture of my beautiful niece and jt in the same photograph, blown up, above the fire place, priceless!

You were the only player who looked like he gave a sh*te when he came one.

But some how. Some way. Someone will blame you for all of this. Good luck with your next club. Happy trails.

Yeah he actually looked very bright and tried to makr something happen.

I'm cynical though - hes only hungry because he wants to play against Ath Madrid. That's the only reason.

We should leave him out of the squad for Ath Madrid as he never bothers turning up for when we need him.

Fanboy says................

The same old stuff with Torres. Yeah he gave a bit of effort when he came on but does he EVER look like scoring.

Eto'o should have stayed on. Ramires is the one who ought to have beem subbed off.

I was surprised Eto'o came off.

Wonder if he might get a start tonight? A chance to play against his old club and put himself in the shop window for a summer move?

If he isn't totally pumped and up for it tonight then surely he never will be?

He's always pumped but rarely useful.

The European stage is where Torres has been best for us so if ever we could be hopefully for the rare site of our number 9 wheeling away from goal in his own unique brand of celebration and relief it would be tonight.

I'd go with Ba tonight as I fear we will be doing alot of long punts up the park and I suppose Ba is a better target man than Torres.

We're going to need everyone to be on top of their defensive duties and Torres puts pressure on opposition defenses quite well and isn't afraid to track back and get stuck in (mainly because it takes him further away from the opposition goal where he feels safer).

That's true.

In terms of work rate and backtracking it would have to be Torres.

It's a tough choice but for the wrong reasons.

For me tonight is about not losing, come away with a draw (score draw preferably) and I would say we are favourites going into the 2nd leg.

Lose tonight and it might just be a too big a task, Atletico's defense is sublime and as we have shown time and again this season, when team sit back and defend deep we rarely have an answer to it.

Torres will work the channels and track back better than Ba can and so he is probably the safer option in that respect... On the rare occasions we might find ourselves in the dizzy heights of the opposition penalty area don't bank on Nando to be in the right place though.

Just found out it was 2 years ago ish, and we slag Torres off with terrible abondon, but the player he is, gave me one of the most incredible moments ever watching a game, the timing, the magnitude of the game, Gary nevilles commentary, the team for him personally to score against, the sheer sheer joy, he gave every single one of us doubters will live like Drogs penalty, or Lamps goal against Bolton forever, it makes us feel inferior in a good way to now none of us could ever execute that goal against that team, he will probably leave in the summer, but the memory lingers..
