Gary Cahill - PL CL FAC LC EL champion

Legend is a bit strong, I'd say cult hero, he was a fantastic buy and he's gotten better over the years. The abuse that he gets at times is wrong, it's mainly ‘fans’ on Twitter land that dish it out, shi**y people. As for people calling out his mistakes, let's be honest, he's made 2/3 big ones this season and we are a top team that can't afford to make them, you can forgive the odd one mistake, but I don't think it's wrong at all to suggest we could do better now, no disrespect.

He has been a fantastic player for us over the years and he is still a good player but i think its time to move on. Mistakes are becoming too frequent. Fantastic cover though.

I think at his best he was a very good CB, especially when paired with a rock-solid leader like JT, but now I think he's past his best.

Mind, I don't think he's been too bad since the formation change but he is still the most error-prone and insecure of our 3 CB's and I would say he is part of the reason why our left side looks more vulnerable than our right. He lacks Azpi's positioning, anticipation and passing skills.

I thought so as well, great in the air. Our defence wasn't put under much pressure though.

No, but he had two absolutely vital interceptions that would have lead to a WBA goal if he didn't get to it. Pulis even went ballistic as he was sure Brunt i think it was, was going to get to one of them first.

Strangely doesn't get the same love as Terry, Luiz or some other Chelsea legends, yet he's been ever present in some our biggest achievements in the last 8yrs.

I will admit, I did give him abuse earlier this season like a lot Chelsea fans when he was beyond awful but shows what a strong character he is by not letting it get to him and coming back strong. Only 31 so for a defender has a few more years left.

For me Cahill gets enough love. He is a great servant to the club, current captain and at the moment doing great.

However he is a bit grey and a bit limited as a player. He is at his absolute peak.

Happy Birthday anyway Gazza!

It's actually coming up to five years in January since he signed with us.

I agree though he's been somewhat under appreciated and criticised heavily along the way, but he's been a very good player for us and for the amount of money we purchased for him, I regard him as a successful signing.

He's been a decent enough player that has been vastly overrated and underrated during his time here. Overrated because he was often compared to prime JT when he made last ditch tackles especially and underrated because he was often branded a fraud when he hit a rut, most notably this September, neither of which are true. He's a good squad standard player but he has definitely been a undisputed starter for a bit longer than he should have been, its ok when he's on form like now and early 2014 but when he's not the fact we can do better (for a starter) stands out like a sore thumb.

He's not Ben Haim or Bolourouz but he's not JT, Ricky, Gallas, Alex or even Luiz either.

7 miillion for a CB that has been a starter for close on 5 yrs, we can't complain. Has his weaknesses but so do most players, his signing was pretty shrewd business given the prices now quoted for mediocre centre backs.

Why does he have no title? Why can't we have 'Gary Cahilll - European Champion'?

The original title was Gary Cahill not very good is he,,,or something like that, i edited the last bit out, but i have now put his honours in the title.

Perfect! He has more letters after his name than Bertrand Russell.

I don't really understand why Cahill would be aspiring to reach Luiz's level of Chelsea legend, in my eyes he has far surpassed it.

He's made a few rickets over the last 5 years, but on the 17th may 2012, and not anywhere fit, gave us fans our greatest moment!!!

Good point, I guess Cahill must have been on holiday for that one.
