Lukaku to Everton

Featured Replies

He really needs to learn to pipe down. Look at fabregas etc not fuelling any fires. I want lukaku to stay but he needs to fight. He "walked in the dressing room and saw eto and ba". Are you f'in kidding me. That's as big a chance you'll get at a top ten club.

So tired of this Lukaku saga... Did he say this or say that? Only he could clear the air and apparently he isn't in the mood to say so until post WC! Forget Cesc, throw 15m and Lukaku at Jueventis for Pogba and lets move on.

With Matic and Pogba playing behind Hazard, Oscar, Willian plus Piazon, Salah, and Schurrle (or some.other younger players) plus Costa/Torres/Ba Chelsea should be fine. I rate Lukaku but honestly this kid acts like he is Drogba in his prime. Clearly (if quotes are true) he does not want to.compete for a position! Cut ties and move on. I would even offer Cech and him for Pogba!

If Lukaku is really looking for a transfer, this goes to show what a weak man he is. Half the glory of becoming a fan favourite is proving yourself by outshining the competition.

Does he really think he's going to just walk into the Chelsea starting 11 that easily? This has changed my opinion on him now. He will never reach legendary status with that attitude.

If that's his attitude then let's cash in. I don't want to see weak willed team members who expect everything to be handed to them without earning their place. Send him abroad. I read Valencia want him for 25 mil. Send him there.

Such a shame really, the boy is good but like so many young players who hit form early, the ego has inflated to mighty proportions and he seems to think he's bigger than the team. Can definitely do without that. He can go be a big fish in a small pond somewhere and not progress if that's what he wants. We need team players who are willing to fight for their starting position by proving themselves.

He's not a weak man he just believes in his ability and wants to be one of the best strikers in the world. He doesn't want to sit on the bench every week he wants to play and improve, been at Chelsea for 3 years and 2 of them went out on loan and outperformed our strikers yet still doesn't feel he is going to get his chance. Selling him would be stupid, its hard enough to find good strikers now and we have a really good one who is only 20, we will sell him and he will go onto to be one best strikers in the world.

I sympathise with him in a way. We give time to a £50M flop that doesn't score goals, just to get use out of him. Imagine if we signed Costa. Lukaku would be striker number three. The best bet for all parties, is to finally show Torres to the curb.

If those quotes are true he can go and get f**ked. You have to earn your place.

He'd do well to keep his head down and work harder.

i'll be shocked if we let him go.  if Costa is in the bag, we still need a strong back up to him plus a third striker.  Ba and Torres have had their time but even if they are not moved on, it seems more likely that we'd put Lukaku out on another loan rather than sell at this stage.  I think, hope and pray that we will see Lukaku in a Chelsea shirt next season.

Jack_Super_Class: You don't become one of the best strikers in the world without making an effort. Seriously, every big name striker in history had to prove themselves in their career and work their nuts off for that first team slot where they earned that superstar status. That's one of the things training is for. To show your manager what you're capable of.

Nobody walks into a starting 11 without a fight or at the very least, a struggle. Yes, he's proved himself at other clubs, but he's not proved himself at Chelsea yet.

I actually read somewhere that Mourinho did plan to keep him and give him a shot, but I would imagine that to not be the case now. As someone already posted, the fact that he decided not to fight when seeing an out of form Torres, Ba and an aging Eto'o in the dressing room, speaks volumes of his character (or lack thereof).

I'm sorry guy, but I don't want a player who cannot be bothered to EARN his place in the starting 11.

The thing is Jose is not somebody who's going favour someone when they're not playing very well just because of who they are, he proved that with Lampard and Cole last season, they started the season poorly and were kept on the bench for extended periods of time, if Lukaku would have stayed I'm almost certain he would have been our main striker within a couple of months but instead he wanted to be a guaranteed starter which, at his age, is a poor attitude to have, you're at one of the biggest clubs in the world and you think one good season at West Brom should make you our main striker automatically. If he's as good as he thinks he is he should have stayed and proved he's better than the crop we had last season but instead he decided he wanted to leave for another season which maybe you can cut him some slack for considering he had a World Cup place to think about, but what got under my skin was every few weeks he was giving a new interview pretty much slagging the club off

I don't doubt that what he's apparently said this time has been twisted to make it look worse than it is, I want him to stay next season because he is a good player with a big future but if he's going to carry on with this self entitled attitude I'd rather not have it around the dressing room.

All Mourinho had to do is sit him down and have a decent chat with him. Not this through the papers sh*t where journalists ask loaded questions.

Does he want to stay and be second choice? which will still see him playing in 50+ games, does he really want to move? I can't see the value in selling him at all who are we going to buy for 20-30 million with the same ability and potential?

I believe of Mourinho is given the chance and he won't do it before the WC he will have Lukaku completely on board and ready to go.

timetowaste.... couldn't have said it better myself. It is a self entitled attitude and yet again he's showing it after another good season at a smaller club. That kind of attitude is like poison in a dressing room. It rubs off on other players and I would imagine it to piss off team mates aswell. You want a good work ethic and culture in the dressing room, not a player who thinks he's bigger than the team. Everybody needs to be pulling in the same direction not for themself.

He has an awful lot of growing up to do before he can ever be considered world class.

The best he is going to accomplish at this rate is being a big fish in a small pond, because no big club will want that attitude, or not for long at least.

Lukaku fails to realise is that a managers position at Chelseas is always precarious, I don't think Jose could risk backing him last year, we all know the lack of chances for young talent to break into the first team, so we had little chouce but to look for a number one striker, we didn't get who we wanted and ended up its eto'o. If we hadn't of brought anyone in and Lukaku worked out it would of been brilliant but I'd imagine the board would of had some questions if Lukaku wasn't playing well, lets not forget at this point he only had a season at west brom on his cv.

The same can be said for last year as will be said for this year, that if Lukaku really thinks he is a top draw striker he should want to fight for his place, it shouldn't matter who we bring in, he should have the belief that he will get the number one spot. He is still young so what would one year fighting for in his place at Chelsea do, if he's good enough hell be moved up the pecking order, if he's no hell get his move away and we can all walk away knowing we gave it a go at least. My worry is that he doesn't want to be a Chelsea legend, he just wants to be talked about wherever he plays and he doesn't want to put the real effort in that it takes to be world class.

Well if he wants to win titles and champions leagues, I don't know where he thinks he's going. No chance we sell him to city arsenal or United. Real and barca and bayern have better forwards than lukaku

We sold our best player to United so what makes this any different?

I'm not too worried at this stage. This is just a load of media drivel from low-rate 'journalists' who are clutching at straws, twisting Lukaku's words in an attempt to create some sort of drama.

Lukaku went out on loan in his first season with us because he was unproven in the Premiership, but was used to starting for Anderlecht and the club felt his development would be more positive if he was starting games. He went out on loan last season because he asked to, and he asked to because it was a world cup season, which I totally understand. Both loans were good for all parties.

I have very little doubt that both Lukaku and Costa will be at Chelsea next season.

If we do get a crazy offer for him though, say £40+million and from a foreign club, then why not sell? £25m is too low for this kid!

I can see Ba staying as 3rd choice. Now we just need to pray and cross everything that Torres gets 3 or 4 goals at the world cup so that someone (anyone!) makes an offer.

If those quotes are true (a big if) then he won't be a big miss if he did go. He should look at azpilacueta and how he got his opportunity and made himself unstoppable through performances rather than moaning and telling the press everything

No, he wasn't our best player.

His attitude stinks, aslong as we don't sell him to an English club then fine. He needs to learn things aren't a given.

Exactly, Dave is an admirable player. He has well and truly earned his place in the team and he did so out of position for a majority of the season. I can only imagine how much he will improve next season when he's played in his natural position.

Lukaku should definitely learn a thing or two from him. Dave is not only a great player, but he possesses a great hunger and an exceptional attitude.

All I've seen from Lukaku is a bunch of whining to the press and threats to leave. When the going gets tough, Lukaku starts walking. That's pretty much the story of his career so far.

Very talented player, but a sh*t attitude and that's going to hold him back big time. This is what happens when players are hyped at a young age. Their ego and ambition eats away at their potential.

Lukaku asked for a transfer last year and is doing it again now...clearly thinks he's too big for chelsea so give him his wish...I had some sympathy for the way he has been treated, but not now...he's definitely changed and fact he picked mino raiola to be his agent, the same twat that represents balotelli and ibrahimovic, then it's clear where the bad influence is coming from...

Someone should remind Lukaku how Dave reacted to not being picked by Jose at the start...you fight to prove him wrong, not sulk and throw in the towel...he won't fulfil his potential with this attitude

These suggestions of selling him are just bizarre really.  :face_palm:

my word. Just no.

He'll wind up as one of these flash in the pan players that winds up playing for a mid table side somewhere with the way he's going.

No big club will want a prima donna dampening the atmos in the dressing room. What he doesn't realise is that competition for a position is common place and its competition that spurs on most players to work harder and in turn, this creates better players.

If he was the number one striker somewhere at his age, he'll think he's made it and he'll have no desire or reason to improve. Its just pure laziness. He expects to jump the queue and become a superstar without any of the hard work that comes along with the title.

He's got one hell of a reality check heading his way in the near future that's all I'm saying and if he does get picked up by a bigger club, he's going to find himself in exactly the same position as he is now.

Am fed up of his entitlement and constantly hearing about how he deserves his shot to be main man.

He's scored 32 in 66 the last two seasons.

Rickie Lambert has scored 28 in 75 with 20 assists.

Benteke's scored 29 in 60.

Before joining us Demba Ba scored 29 in 54 for Newcastle.

His performances while out on loan don't mean he's the second coming.

These suggestions of selling him are just bizarre really.  :face_palm:

my word. Just no.

So what you're saying is that you want the club to pander to him and demonstrate that if a player throws the toys out the pram and demands a transfer because they are being asked to work for their position, they'll get their way? My word, just no.

No player gets special treatment and that's how it should be. He is only wanting a transfer because he sees what's coming through the door and he doesn't want to work for his spot. He just wants to walk into it.

Do we want that lazy defeatist attitude? No thank you.
