Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

Featured Replies

You'll find that sadly even we have a few rather primitive supporters whose judgement of our only truly great player will be based on stories by the sun, the daily mail and their pubmates.

Lampard's been a great player and his contribution is undoubted. But did he get the same stick when he virtually didn't contribute for his final 3 years (apart from penalties)? Nah, legend. Every time he didn't waste possession was celebrated like Christmas.

However, Hazard is made the scapegoat even though his average overall contribution per season has been greater than Lampard's except for this season - when he is visibly frustrated for obvious reasons.

For his own sake he should leave. It's sad to admit, but he deserves better than the criticism of that ungrateful mob.

I'm not sure how long you've been on here, but there were a number of folk, myself included (and Lampard is one of, if not my absolute, favourite players at Chelsea).  There were a number of us thinking that he was done for, that he should be sold, that we should take the money Milan were offering, and run.  Thankfully, Lampard proved us all wrong.

Then there was the time Lampard went to City.  A number of folk were saying, unfairly, that he was now no longer a Chelsea legend, a traitor, etc.

The fact that you are taking this thread to bash Lampard, is rather bizarre.  Also, this whole "my poor little Eden, he better leave for his own sake, because he may get his feelings hurt," sort of rhetoric is some form of self gratifying guardianship nonsens

Frank scored 22 goals during one season. I doubt Hazard will ever top this even if he plays for Real Madrid in La Liga which is not as competitive as PL.

RE Hazard vs Lampard.

I've not seen Hazard score goals of the technical brilliance of those that Frank scored like the lobbed goals against Barca and Hull. The chest, turn and volley against Munich. Any of the numerous 30 yard thunderbolts.

Frank's passing range was much better too, he could play a. 30/40 yard defence splitting through ball (one in particular for Drogba I'm thinking of I think against Man City)

With the exception of dribbling I don't think Hazard can do anything than Frank did personally.

His range of passing is actually really underrated (Lampard's), maybe not as spectacular as some but it was generally very accurate and he didn't overhit it that often. I'd urge everyone to watch this video in fact, which pretty much attests to as much. EDIT: just saw that it was posted on the previous page, well I'll keep it here anyway.

And this is that pass to Drogba you mentioned.

I agree that some of the views of Hazard might be a bit unwarranted, but you can't really directly compare the two situations. Lampard was in his mid 30s by that time and as such could afford to get a considerable amount of leeway, especially considering the difficulty in maintaining his previous high level at such as an age.

Can you imagine how the media would have reacted had that pass in the final video been given by a Barcelona player?

Real would never give us 100mil for him, don't be silly.

Dailymail as unreliable as they are are reporting it, besides its not like teams like real dont overpay or pay ridiculous sums.

Even on Youtube Hazard has about 10 times more highlights than Lampard, most of which are more impressive (with more viewers). That's not to say he wasn't a great player, just not Hazard's level when it comes to skill, which is what people go on Youtube for. Yet it's sad how people here implicitly drag Lampard down, even someone above admitting to have called him a traitor.

Neither he nor Hazard deserve this kind of treatment. Who's surprised Lampard had no hesitations to join City? With this kind of support what else could he do?

Kids like players who dribbles around for ever so of course he's gonna have more views on YouTube than lampard , I mean a cat who falls of the table gets more views than lampard

Like I said before being talented is more than dancing around with the ball

And even if Real offer Bale, why would he agree to that?

The most likely outcome is that Hazard submits a TR, which means the price goes down and they will have to sell.

The fact that Chelsea's own 'fans' bring banners to games where they call him a 'rat' is very smart too. It brings his price down and takes away his motivation. Genius. We need more of that.

By your use of of LOL you are clearly the teenager.

Last season Hazard was named the best player in the league, and you people are desperate to offload him. What sort of chelsea fan wants to off load one of the most talented players to ever play here.

The thing is, he's attitude and lack of goals. He's definetely overrated and when someone offers 100m or Bale we should let him go.

Let's face it he has a sh*tty attitude and clearly doesn't want to play for Chelsea so it make sense to get rid of him now before his price tag goes down.

You have to be on a wind up, no ones that stupid surely.

Yeah those hanky waving Madrid fans would never boo their own players, especially someone like Bale, their record signing....

I kind of agree with you. He doesnt appear to want to be here right now, but it could just be injury/form based rather than attitude. He was a superstar last season, so he does deserve a bit more respect. But having said that, anything north of 75m or a bale swap i would take it, especially if that swap came with a cash/isco kicker!

I'm not sure one was better than the other, both of them were brilliant. If it was up for a vote though,  I think I'd go for Lamps.

If you have to bring youtube stats to compare Hazard to the greatest midfield goal scorer in the history of English league football( 3rd in CL history, behind Kaka and one goal behind Scholes), if not in all of Europe, then good luck with that mate.

I'll admit again that Hazard is clearly more naturally talented player but he also has some distance to go before he can even begin to compare his career with Lampard's.
