January 27, 201412 yr I'm really hoping Hazard carries his blinding form into the City match because the way he is playing right now he could cause them all sorts of problems.
January 28, 201412 yr Hazard vs Zabaleta is going to be a fantastic battle, and I think we'll fare a lot better because our main man is out wide instead of in the centre getting kicked to pieces by Toure like Mata did last year. If Navas is playing on the right wing, I'd be surprised to see him work back and help Zaba out much, could be a lot of 1 v 1 situations, and Zaba certainly isn't the quickest RB in the league. I expect he'll probably be fouling Hazard all night, hopefully the ref puts a stop to it early because City do like a foul. Edited January 28, 201412 yr by Jonty

Hazard has already put Zabaleta on his ass this season. https://vine.co/v/hDq9XlHhu0K Edited January 28, 201412 yr by jack_super_class
January 28, 201412 yr http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4Z1HNh8MnU But other than that, he actually did a pretty good job on Ribery and is probably the best right back in the league. Wouldn't mind seeing Hazard on the right against the much weaker Kolarov (who seems to be in favour over Clichy now). At the same time Kolarov is more dangerous going forward and will need to be tracked properly.

We need Eto'o to have a good game against City because if he's not giving the centre backs much to worry about then whoever plays right-centre back will be able to help out with Hazard if needed. City are probably going to target Hazard as the danger man which is why I think Willian needs to pick the City game as the day he sorts out his final ball because we might need him and Oscar to be on hand to provide some creativity if City are nullifying Hazard.
January 28, 201412 yr Those saying Thorgan won the best player in Belgium award forget that De Bruyne won the best young player in the Bundesliga award, and that didn't matter to Mourinho.
January 28, 201412 yr Those saying Thorgan won the best player in Belgium award forget that De Bruyne won the best young player in the Bundesliga award, and that didn't matter to Mourinho. It's an acknowledgement of their ability though, doesn't mean they will necessarily fit in at Chelsea but in De Bruyne's case a player we picked up relatively cheap was then sold at a substantial profit. We've got the player voted the best goalkeeper in Spain on our books and have just bought the player of the year from Portugal and Switzerland. Add to that Thorgan who has been voted the best player in Belgium and Chelsea are clearly doing something right with regards to scouting and recruitment.

I dont think Zabaleta is the best RB in the league, hes good but he gets beaten far too many times for me Azpi is better defensively.Coleman for me is currently the best RB in the league. January 30, 201412 yr Hope hazard is given the vacant number 10 now, he seemed keen on it before he signed
January 30, 201412 yr Im not so sure he will change now. Two years with his current number. Fans already have those shirts. I know player do change, Drogba did it. I hope Hazard doesnt though for the sake of the fans that cant afford to be buying new shirts each season.
February 3, 201412 yr I thought this thread would be flooded with posts. What a joy to watch. My favorite player by a distance.
February 4, 201412 yr I think we are very lucky to have him, by far away the best footballer on the pitch tonight and has the potential to reach the messi/Ronaldo/Ribery status. He needs to start scoring more regularly and keep consistent to do that.
February 4, 201412 yr Who heard the commentator try and say that Man City declined to go after Hazard? He turned them down in favour of us.

February 4, 201412 yr Ribery is nowhere near the Messi/Ronaldo status. Don't understand the love-in for him. http://www.uefa.org/uefa-best-player-award/season=2013/winner/index.html Ribéry - 36 votes Messi - 14 votes Ronaldo - 3 votes http://www.fifa.com/ballondor/playeroftheyear/index.html (in spite of the first ever vote extension, as well as allowing voters to change votes) Ronaldo - 27.99% Messi - 24.72% Ribéry - 23.39% Hazard would do well to become the "next Ribéry". He's following the same career path from 2011-2014 that Ribéry did from 2006-2009.
February 4, 201412 yr He's on another planet this season. I just wish he'd shoot more often. He could be getting Bale numbers if he shot on sight (within reason), I think he's not being selfish enough. He'll skin 3 or 4 players and look for the pass even when he's got a shot on. So happy that he's taking on players now rather than trying to play like Mata, really stepped it up and in the big games too.
February 4, 201412 yr Unbelievable skill, he will be as good as messi one day. He would be as good as messi now if he could shoot like him. He maybe seems a little hesitant to shoot given the chance. A prime example being that flick to nobody, he hits that first time, prob ends up in the back of the net 1/3 of the time. It's an area he has improved on under mourinho, given his goal tally this season. He will keep improving and one day he will be a complete player, a 30 goal a season ballon d'or contender. We have found a total gem there, and what's more we have his little brother impressing every game out on loan, what a future for the hazard boys and chelsea.
