Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

Featured Replies

Honestly you know we are in a bit of trouble when we are considering this. I think hed be great to have in and around the club in some kind of role... whether he has anything to offer on the pitch for the next 6 months considering hes had no pre season is doubtful.

Unfortunately this is not NFL, otherwise sign him as the designated Penalty kicker. I think he's happily retired, for a couple of years now.

I reckon he would have wondered what could have been if he didn't leave, could break some serious record and have a couple of statues of him built by now.

He need him or someone like him in that team. As soon as Carney went out yesterday, we sort off fell apart as a team cos the link up between the midfield and attack was gone. We badly need a creator in that team. Someone that can dribble, pull players to him to open up spaces for others to run into, someone with the X factor, that can produce a moment of magic to help the team. As woeful as Joao Felix was goal scoring wise, he made our team last season far better ehever he played because of his ability to link up play, give those little flicks and dribble in tight spaces. Either we get Hazard back on a six months - a one year loan or take Joao Felix. We don't know when Carney and Nkunku would be fit but it's not looking good already. I far that be the time they would be fit, our season might probably be over. EST I forget, please sell Gallagher. The only thing admirable about him is is workrate but with Caicedo and Latvia in the team, we don't need a player of his skillset again. Better to sell him and use his money to bring Hazard on a deal or buy Joao Felix.. I am sure A. Madrid would have come off their high horse about his huge cost since. If can do a deal for 20-30m, and on a reduced salary, it won't be bad.

A player that is notorious for being a bad trainer, what could go wrong?

Then get Felix... I don't really care who but get someone.

The level of talent Hazard had doesn't just disappear, I'm sure he's lost a yard, and is a out of form and fitness, but he was undervalued and demotivated at Madrid. If he would come back on a free on a mediocre salary for an initial one year term, what is the risk, maybe he will come back with a point to prove. FFS we are looking at spending 50m on some bang average player from Forest, but won't take the risk on a club legend that is only 32.

Id have to agree with a comment above. We really should be negotiating another loan for felix at this point, he knows the club so can hit the ground running, he seems to really like it at chelsea and since athletico seem unable to sell him at their inflated asking price, maybe we could actually negotiate a sensible buy option at the end of it incase we did decide to make it permanent. Felix is going to be a far better short term/ or long term option than hazard and is just as available at this late stage. Theres simply too much riding on the season to not move on a chuk/nkunku replacement.

He was almost permanently injured. Fitness and training were never his priority and it caught up with him. It was a tribute to his wonderful natural skills that he was as great as he was without putting in the groundwork. Football was only ever a means to an end for him. Family was always his top priority. He's happily retired. Let him be.

Chuks underwent a surgery on his knee yesterday... Prognosis is Six weeks out but we all know that this is not an open and shut case. Six weeks is not cast in stone as there might  be a relapse or re assessment on the injury. Also it's six weeks before he resumed training not six weeks till match fitness thus he might be out for close to 2 months at least or 3 months at most. The question is do we wait until he is back or get someone to alternate play in the role. IMO, we need to get someone else like Felix to do so. @ TB pls make this sensible decision one year loan deal with option to buy is not a bad idea... Six weeks is too long to pin our hopes on Carney

So 1 year loan at £20m + £13m salary right with an option to buy at around £80m? You keep forgetting we paid £10m + £6m for a half season loan. If he was that brilliant here there would loads of clubs queuing up to sign him even in the PL. Off my head City, Utd, Arsenal, Newcastle, Spurs are missing something, but none of these teams are remotely interested. & what happens when Nkunku returns? You have a £1/4m a week bench option, or the manager is forced trying to fit him in the team to justify the outlay? Sorry but he is highly overrated and I don’t understand what match some fans were watching.

One of my favourite players ever, but imagine the shape he is in currently having not trained all summer and barely any football for 2 or 3 years.

Even if Poch could get him first, which would be 6-8 weeks intense training. Hazards body would break down again. Real shame we wont see him return to his old self, just glad we got to see him light up the bridge for so many years.

Surely if we are interested then we'd be offering a very minimal (if not zero) loan fee. His salary wasn't massive in the grand scheme of things last season (£110K per week), but no harm in insisting Atletico subsidise part of that. Neither Atletico nor Felix have many options here !

Given we have both our #10s out injured for weeks/months, then a loan until, say, January would make a lot of sense. But on our terms !

It feels like we are clutching at straws after one draw and one defeat. I was one of Hazard's biggest fans but we still have a lot of players, many we haven't even seen play yet. Lets give some of these game time, BEFORE we revert to buying players that were good for us 4 years ago 😉

What do you mean his salary wasn’t massive, I am shocked the press haven’t said much about it. It was a ridiculous deal that blew up in our face.

Well that's one source.

Spotrac had it at £110K a week, and Capology £195K a week.

But you're missing the point. if we want him back it can be on our terms, not Atletico's or Felix's !

Felix has no options, and Atletico want him gone.

I wouldn't be to open to this move. Our squad is young and new leaders are emerging. I feel someone like Eden couldn't disrupt this if he came in and showed how lazy he is in training. Because he himself has said this many times. We don't need lazy. We need the fittest squad in the league.

Eden no - that boat has sailed.

Felix Yes. He was the best player in our squad at certain things last season. Control. Dribbling. Picking a pass. Attacking intent.  Not the greatest end product, but a years loan (minimal loan fee) would be fine with me.

Picking a pass.

Don't recall him playing any passes in the final third, just kept his head down and shot every time.
