Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

Featured Replies

Only 32, which is young these days.  But he never liked training or took training that seriously - which in an odd way, makes me like him more.  i doubt he will be trying to become a coach or a manager anywhere.

Sad news really. So much talent. Pace was an asset to him but losing it should not have been a career ender.

Should have been one of those players able to play on in to his late 30s and still create magic through his skill and football intelligence. Like Franco did.

Unfortunately having lumps kicked out of him, injuries and, imo, just not having that burning hunger for the game anymore, sees a brilliant career cut short.

Thanks for the many wonderful moments Eden, happy retirement.

With his move to Madrid I hoped the whole world would finally be able to recognize he was right up there with Messi and Ronaldo at the peak of his powers, as he would never really get that acknowledgement playing for mighty hated Chelsea.

Sadly, it wasn't to be, but we can only cherish all those moments with him in the squad, even getting the chance to sign him up was a major deal back then and I was thrilled we were able to pull it off, which makes the 2012 CL victory an even happier memory.

We all love you Eden, looking forward to you enjoying retirement and signing up to the Shed End!

Hazard was all about instinct.  He didn't like training, was never concerned about preparing or worrying or even thinking about the opposition. He hated training. He was never going to have a long career. He likes being with his kids and enjoying family life.  He never should have gone to Real Madrid, they made him train and he got injured. Instinct and amazing talent, he should have just stuck with that.

A magic player - and in my top 5 favourites. King franco still 1, SFL 2, and then JT, cech, drogs, dixon, wisey and Eden fighting out the other 3 places (I know that doesn't fit into 3 places - but they move around - eden is usually there though!)

I loved Eden so much, that I named my first born after him (middle name is eden).

As I've no doubt said countless times on this Forum, Eden Hazard became my favourite ever footballer and we were so lucky to have him at his peak. He was capable of things others can only dream of. Without doubt the most talented player I have ever seen play for CFC. And he played the game the way it should be - with humour and a smile, so even rival fans couldn't hate him but just watch and admire.

At times he almost single handedly won us games and carried us over the line and he scored three of the most memorable individual goals I have ever seen.

Thanks for everything Eden Hazard. Whatever you were paid, you were worth every penny. Enjoy your retirement.

Best player I have witnessed play in a Chelsea shirt. Was a genius. So many wonderful moments. Often is asked what is his best Chelsea goal. My favourite was his second goal in the hattrick he got against Newcastle. What a goal. Goes a bit under the radar but that is as good as a goal you will get. The whole hattrick was phenomenal. The penalty which completed his hattrick was so cooly taken in that slow motion penalty style he loved doing.

1:23 is his second goal and my favourite one. So many joyful moments.
