Cesc Fabregas

Featured Replies

I think Fabregas did the right thing personally because by praising his reception it means that those that did boo Fabregas look like the class morons they are.

He'll have laughed his c0ck off, back in the dressing room :)

I think the article on Cesc was good and calm headed but not sure if the conclusion was right. I don't see any of our midfielders give such brilliant passes that he has done most of the season. He made Costa so good. For him not fitting Arsenal could be correct but he fits us perfectly. We havent seen Costa play in ages. Drogba can't make those runs. Oscar did a pretty good Costa impression against Arsenal and it was almost a goal. Most if the season we've had two outlets to goals: 1. Hazard 2. Cesc-Diego. Pretty important if you ask me.

Cesc is super-light weight but his football brain is one of the heaviest in the league. He sort of reminds me of Pirlo but is not on his level in swagger and controlling the pace of the game.

Maybe he slumped a bit in the spring but we certainly need him.

the thing with fabregas is that if we play in a style where we have a small percentage of posession the only way he can contribute to the game is in moments- if he gets an assist for his pass to oscar and wins a pen the narrative about his performance would be completely different even though the fact remains that he only had a few potentially game changing touches. defensively he offers little and he's not a dynamic player.

his problem is in the bigger games, particularly away from home, we've played in a style where we are asking to have less of the ball and where he is not in the heart of midfield. he's the player who determines whether or not we play on the front foot or not. and when we don't, he'll forever be on the fringe of the game. I suppose the only 'solution' to this problem is to have another midfield passer who is good enough defensively to feature in these games, but also good enough on the ball to ensure fabregas can get enough touches in a game to be consistently influential.

loftus cheek is that kind of player. lets hope he gets his chance and takes it.

Fabregas is a good player undoubtedly.. but I still think we need an adequate backup for him if we are to challenge for the league next season as well as Champions league.

His form against big sides ain't that good, and since January he hasn't been the same player he was, and we had somewhat struggled for tempo in our game.

I know many of you guys would disagree with me but, it's just my opinions it's not his only season where he has struggled for form since January I think that has been the case from last 4 years. So I think we should definitely need an adequate backup for next season.

I thought Cesc was brilliant yesterday. Roundly booed by the Gooners, in the second half he took his face guard off just in case they didn't realise who he was, then when he was subbed he clapped all 4 sides of the ground in a sportsman like way - even the most hardened Gooner couldn't stop themselves applauding him back.

Still, it's a pity they've no class.

That magic hat song is pretty odd.

Yeah what's the Hat about? lol

Come on....you are British. You never heard of Merlin the Magician? Magicians usually have a magic hat. The song is saying that Fabregas is a Magician with ball at his feet. Even a Dumb ass Yank can figure that much outnope.gif

Much obliged, Robdog. I didn't know the song yet, and now I've been singing it, sotto voce, all day. At work :-)

same here - I have been singing ever since I first heard it - my wife is tired of the song already

Stopped reading the article when i read this

An in-and-out opening 20 minutes ended with a booking for diving in the area, Fàbregas hanging his leg out hopefully as he passed Santi Cazorla but ending up tumbling over thin air.

Cazorla hit both of Cesc legs with his leg being stuck in. Cesc could have stayed up, maybe, but to say Fabregas was hanging his leg and fell over thin air is ridiculous.

One more assist yesterday

And a brilliant one too I may add. Ramires & Cesc had the slightest bit of eye contact, but they were on the same page. IMHO this goal defined CFC this Double Winning Season

I thought he was first class last night. His touch and passing was spot on.

Why does he take the mask off later in games though? He did it Sunday and again last night. Surely it's a precaution thing and he either keeps it on for the whole game or doesn't bother with it at all?

Probably starts too get sweaty under the mask, blurs his vision perhaps.

When he looks up and pulls his right foot far back, I'm already thinking 'chance'. I guess that's why he's magic.

Imagine if we had Costa fit the whole season and another forward/winger making runs in behind. Fabregas could get 30 assists a season.

Should have had another 2 but for poor movement in front of him.

An in form 100% Costa would have scored at least two of them last night.

Cesc is a class act and there is no one better when it comes to creating chances for the strikers.
