As for Moses, who'd have thought he would have such a turn around in stature at Chelsea? I've always liked his directness as a player but that little extra bit of quality as an attacking player has often been lacking in his game.

So now he's been reinvented as a wingback! Looked good against relatively poor Hull and Leicester sides, if he starts there again against United I'm sure the defensive side of his game will face more scrutiny but early days and it's looking good for Victor. 

I remember there was some deluded bum who claimed that Moses is a write-off due to him being a so-called failure at West Ham.  Egg all over his idiotic face and anyone else who wrote Moses off.

You know, left to José alone, Moses would have been sold like Lukaku, Mata, Debruyn etc. But someone in the board can actually see something that José is blind to. Someone in the board actually rate him a lot. That's why even though he has been unimpressive on loan he was still given a contract renewal. Big thumb up to whoever kept Moses.

If they vetoed the sale of Moses but not any of the prior three then they are not as smart as you think. 

It's just utterly boring how some can't praise Moses, Conte or anything without taking pops at Mourinho first. Sad. Move on.

Moses was excellent on the weekend, much better with his decision making and final ball, maybe starting from deeper as a wing back could be the making of him.

I'll always have a soft spot for Moses after that last minute winner he got against Shaktah. Great to see him getting a chance to prove what he can do.

When you said you don't rate Victor Moses, you never specified that you didn't rate him as a winger.  Now that his performances has proved his worth to the team, you change tack and start crowing about not rating him as a winger.

The end result is the Board still did not spend big on ANY player - making a bid and actually closing the bid are two different things but I don't expect a loser dimwit like you to understand the difference.

I thought Moses was only ever going to be considered a winger here, hence the not rating him, if he went back to that position i will again make that stance clear, however at wing back (where the tactical role is a lot different to winger, more space to run into for a start as the fullback wont be be marking as tighlty as he would be a winger, as the move for Leicester goal showed).

Ok then we'll let's talk about what did happen, we spent over £100m, the highest outside of Manchester, we got in the beat midfielder from last season and while the two deadline day defenders were not plan A, they have allowed Antonio to move to a formation that even this early you can probably say has salvaged our season.

Chelsea had been tracking him since this time, and he was almost signed as a 17 yo out of Crystal Palace. 

 

It's pretty awesome that despite everything he still chose to represent Nigeria.

And it also shows that sometimes we often assess players on what they have done in the past. as the winger he was I would have said there are better out there and not been over fussed if he had moved on elsewhere. In his new role it appears we have a new player able to adjust to the needs of the team. How many would have considered him for the current role, another plus for the manager in my book. It makes me recall Conte's tailor comments back in July. Like you say though its early days, there will be sterner tests, but it's a positive move both for the team and the player. What with the changes in defence as well a new team is beginning to take shape.

I think above all the Victor Moses situation shows the inherent risk / flaw of the loan system. The club that loans the player isn't really interested in him long term, just as a quick fix. They aren't interested in his development, playing time, etc. and for various reasons he's one of the easier players to be dropped. The player comes back with a wasted year on loan and fails to progress or even goes back.

And if we look back during the entire stay of Moses at Chelsea: has he ever dissapointed at Chelsea? Sure, maybe for a game or half a game, but over one full season, three preseasons and now this season has Moses ever been anything other than a good impact at Chelsea?
