In all honesty (and this might sound ridiculous considering I've been running the forum's MOTM system for a few years now) I don't think voting for a single standout player in a match is a particularly good way of assessing a particular player's worth, even when you tally up years of statistics. A side's quality is ultimately a team effort, and while over several games you might be able to nominate one player who has stood out somewhat more than the others, ultimately they will on some level reflect the work of their team mates. A MOTM vote recognises one player and absolutely dismisses the contributions of the other ten (to thirteen).

Last season is the perfect example: Hazard is probably the best player in the league but was unable to produce his usual quality due to the fact that the team as a whole were performing so poorly (as well as injuries, etc.).

Moses has done everything asked of him so far this season. If he keep's this up then Willian could find it hard to get back into the team.

EDIT: Forget what i said about Willian because i just remembered that Moses is playing in a totally different position than Willian would :face_palm:

John Stakes, where the f**k are you? And where are those who Claimed Pedro alone is better than Moses and Cuadrado combined? Where is Jose himself who never gave Moses a chance despite being impressive in all our preseasons? I told you guys that if Moses is ever given the chance, he will prove you all wrong. I will be over the moon if he scores against José's team.

So nice to see a good player and dedicated professional being given a chance and making the most of it.

Despite impressive pre-season after pre-season, ‘sh*t For Brains’ Jose Mourinho never gave the man a chance. Is anyone, other than Mourinho’s idiotic apologists really surprised that Moses is proving his worth as a good squad player?

It’s yet another black mark against the individual and yet another failure to properly utilise the talents of a player he inherited. Reaching for the chequebook and spending nearly £30m on Cuadrado? He should have been sacked on the spot for that appalling error of judgement and spat upon in the street.

In May 2013, we lent Mourinho a fresh, clean pair of pants. He returned them two and a half years later with a massive, thick stain down the middle, on either side of a huge gaping hole which he'd been using to sh*t/talk out of.

Still, as a small comfort, at least I'll get to see that appalling excuse for a human being repeatedly get his comeuppance over the course of this season. When he loses again on Monday night, I’ll enjoy watching him being showered in the spit of angry Manchester United supporters, whilst endless worksky Liverpool fans finally use their free time for good and gather around him to perform a massive circle jerk at the sight.

It’s only what he deserves. I hope some of it gets in his eyes too. The c**t.

You've got some issues, might want to seek a bit of help.

And every season he's been with us. I have a soft side for him because I feel he's not been given enough opportunities and support from the management and fans alike.  In my opinion he was one of our standout players the season the waiter took over from RDM. Then Mou came back and he's been on loan every season, even though he always was front runner for most people as player of pre-season. People have put forward arguments that he wasn't impressive on his loan spells but in the same way, we can argue that the disappointment of being overlooked for even a squad place after such brilliant pre-season performances can affect morale and cause his performance to dip during those loan spells plus of course some injuries that plagued him. I'm not saying he's Hazard or won't even compare him with Willian but what the boy has is potential which chelsea need to develop by working closely with him and not depend on other clubs all the time to help develop our players. He's the closest thing to Robben we've had in the squad since Robben left in terms of his pace and directness. Add in the versatility of being comfortable on the right side as well as left and we have a potential gem in our hands. In my opinion he's never let us down when in chelsea colours. And no I'm not saying he gives a top class performance every time he wears the shirt, but for the £9m we paid for him along with the developmental opportunities we've given him i'd say he is doing okay.

Happy for Moses and he seems to really suit the Conte system but...

we have some f**king spoilt fans even on this forum, the abuse hurled towards a manger who won us our first title in 50 years and then won 2 more is absolutely disgraceful.

some of you need to get a grip.

Anyway, back on topic, as I say, I'm delighted for Moses as he seems a solid professional and has never really been given a fair crack with us.

He's getting it now and is certainly making the most of the opportunity.

Hey, I wasn't entirely happy with Jose either, and I did enjoy this rant, but nonetheless I feel it was just a little extreme...

As for Moses, I expected that Conte would simply be content to use him as a super-sub because of his pace and direct running. Now he's being used as the all-action wingback that Cuadrado should have been. I have to salute Moses for grabbing his opportunity with both hands. Hull and Leicester are not (any longer) top-tier opponents but he's looked consistently dangerous against them.

Will be interesting to see how he goes against Man U next week...

Personally, I always thought that Moses suffered in Mourinho's eyes through having been identified by Benitez as offering "something different" from our "Mazacar" options at the time, and being played alot by FSW as a result. Moses' 10 goals in 27+16 appearances was a pretty decent return in 2012/13, and his goals in Europe in particular were a big contribution to our winning of the Europa Cup.

Heaven forbid that Jose would ever agree that Rafa got something right, hence off on a succession of loans went Moses, despite looking useful in pre-season etc ...

Fortunately Conte iappears to be a proper manager, looking at all the resources at his disposal and how to make best use of them, with no favouritism displayed thus far ...

The result: Moses playing great and currently our second top scorer for the season. Well done Conte. Well done Moses.

A bit of a revelation in our new 3-4-3 system too me. Gives us a double threat on the wing when we have the ball and allows Azpilicueta to play as one of the three CBs where i think he is looking great and should continue.

If he keeps adding goals/assists to his game then for sure he's going to be a vital player for us, maybe even more so than Willian. In fact I didn't even miss willians energy with victor in the team.

sounds like Don Antonio already had plans for Victor Moses before the season started:

Conte on Victor Moses: "When I arrived, I asked about Moses. I wanted to see him in pre-season. I knew his great potential."

we all saw in the pre-season that Don Antonio was always putting Moses on the pitch....Don Antonio must have really thought out a method & right now it's working - will love to see if this same formula can work against the Big Boys of the EPL though

I remember over the past 3 seasons, he was the best player preseason then somehow got shipped out. I guess maybe he's NOT the Jose type of player for whatever reasons. He's getting better game by game, and his defence isn't bad either.

I remember there was some deluded bum who claimed that Moses is a write-off due to him being a so-called failure at West Ham.  Egg all over his idiotic face and anyone else who wrote Moses off.

Wow, you have serious issues :laugh2:

As for Moses, a lot more suited to wing back than winger, for the same reason I prefer Kenedy further back, shame the later is out on loan actually, he would have been perfect for wing back.

So you think you are the deluded bum?  LOL!  Good to see the likes of Moses shutting up his critics including you.

What are you on about you maniac?

And shutting up what exactly? I don't rate him as a winger, and hes shut me up because he's doing well im a different position? only in youre world. Similar thing has happened with Antonio Valencia at you're team.

Also i never used his West Ham spell to write him off, only to point out the ridiculous double standards you hold.
