September 3, 201411 yr No one in our squad has pace like him and his goal scoring isn't that bad compared to some of our previous strikers think he has room to grow into a better player too
September 13, 201411 yr Thought he was good when he came on today. A very exciting direct player and boy is he rapid! I hope we get to see him have some match time this year.

Loved the effort he put in today. To have a player who hasn't played all season yet to come on in the last ten minutes and really work hard and make good runs instead of sulk and play backwards is nice to see.
September 14, 201411 yr Cut inside well with great pace then completely mish*t a shot and sent it well wide of the far post, summed up the skill set he's displayed so far for the club. Can only assume Jose has him on extra shooting drills, if we can get him to be more clinical he'll be fantastic.
September 14, 201411 yr One run right near the end of the game yesterday down the left I swear he went past five or six players, was impressive
September 14, 201411 yr I love having players like Salah, Willian and Ramires to bring off the bench. Tiring teams will hate seeing them running at them.
October 28, 201411 yr He had a bad game but I don't think it's a case of that's why we don't play him because he is terrible I think he just genuinely needs more game time. He performed reasonably well last season, had good games against the likes of Stoke if I can remember correctly.

He performed reasonably well last season, had good games against the likes of Stoke if I can remember correctly. I'm not so sure about the game time thing. I remember watching alot of him in the Europa League for Basle and his finishing was just as bad then. If you give him a yard he will beat defenders with ease but it's 50/50 if there is going to be any decent end product from him. I still would like to see him come off the bench late in games more often though. Him running at tired defenders would be great to watch.
October 28, 201411 yr Playing less than 180 minutes a month can't be an easy adjustment for somebody who was the star attacking player at everywhere he has played but here. Personally I would have kept Kalou over either Salah or Moses. Kalou understood how to be a sub and was fairly productive as one.

He's actually a decent player, he was bad today but so where quite a few players. I'm not even a big fan of the guy, didn't want him here in the first place but I think he's a decent addition the squad and should come in handy this season. Still a long season left Scott.

Kalou absolutely no way on this earth, Moses maybe, he seemed like a bit of a twat though, I don't think it's his quality that kicks him out of the side I just don't think Mourinho likes his attitude that much. I could be wrong though Mourinho has handled plenty of arse holes in the past.

Look at his record at Lille and now Berlin. He clearly is a serviceable player.

He clearly is a serviceable player. Yeah it's all good when you look at the stats but can you not remember how bad he actually was? Watching him play for us over and over again was actually hard. I don't hate him at all he was actually a loverly bloke but he was a dreadful player, had very little to his game despite scoring at unexpected times. That might sound like a good trait but he could have been replaced with someone far better for years. He wasn't a good backup player, not in my book, he lost the ball more times than I could count and screwed play up all the time in his later years. He was better in his early years here though, and he was actually pretty good under Di Matteo, but to be fair who wasn't good under Di Matteo? We were really determined then, even Bosingwa had a rock of a game against Barca and Spurs playing centre back. Salah at least has something about his game, on Sky they said he was the quickest player in the league on a recent report. Sure he might just be an Egyptian Aaron Lennon but it adds variety to our game, he's much better than Kalou ever was and we can't really forget some of Salahs performances last season, he's barely even played this season. Which also brings up the point that there is still plenty of games to go this season, are we even a quarter way in yet considering all games played? He has plenty of time to prove something. October 29, 201411 yr To be fair he played a lot better at Basel against us, perhaps they sent us his cousin or something.
October 29, 201411 yr Jose: If players that played 90 mins two days ago were fantastic, I expect people not playing a lot to raise the level to create me problem. Asked specifically if Salah and Schurrle had disappointed him, Mourinho replied: ‘Yes.’ I liked that reaction from Jose. It was far from the performance you expect from 2nd tier players at this club. They're both good talents who need some time and experience. I hope Salah goes on loan next season and Traore is drafted-in (WP permitting). However we have seen this season how important having a good mixture of experienced and young talent is and our Attacking-mid options are unbalanced compared to the rest of the squad.

Yeah I defended the Salah signing when we made it. You need squad depth and on paper he adds variety to the game. In fact I never said Kalou is better than Salah, and if pushed to give an answer, I think Salah has more natural ability and definitely could have a far better career than Kalou. I never saw Kalou put in a performance like Salah did against us at Stamford Bridge last season; he was class that night. What I am saying is that Kalou was very good for somebody who rarely got consistent starts. He got the odd start every few weeks and then was expected to make a difference in tight games. It's a more difficult role than people give credit to. Look at more talented players like Podolski struggling with a more limited role at Arsenal. It's sad seeing Salah struggle tonight because he has a lot of ability, but maybe he has to be the main guy to be really productive. I still think he's very good player, but he's only going to make it here if he accepts his role. He's the fifth choice for the three attacking mid positions and that's not including when we play 3 in midfield. He has a very limited role.
October 29, 201411 yr The state of the cow patch and weather conditions never help world class players who are used to playing on a pristine pitch groomed like a snooker table; this was one of those games tonight where the good old Sunday pub team tactics work best; Shrewsbury clearly were used to playing on a bumpy pitch whereas the likes of Salah and Shirley were especially having a hard time but neither really got into the game. Salah even with all his pace was caught a few times by the Shrewsbury defence, so if he can't find the pace, which is really all he was purchased for, then it will be goodbye come January loan or sold. He had a real opportunity tonight as did Shirley to stake a claim for the 1st 11 and they both blew it. Just can't see Salah, based on this performance even make the bench on Saturday.

I would rather see U21's such as Boga who is just as quick and can actually pick a pass.
October 29, 201411 yr I dont think Salah was as bad as people were making out. I think Andre was a lot worse. Saying that I cant think of anyone really having an amazing game. Drogba stands out because of the goal but other than that I dont think we played we at all. I dont blame Jose for being annoyed. Yesterday was a chance for the players who arent getting a lot of game time to step up and show that they should be starting for us but none of them did.
October 29, 201411 yr To be fair he played a lot better at Basel against us, perhaps they sent us his cousin or something. To be fair though, he probably played more matches and was in form and confident. He cartainly isnt that here. Egyptian Aaron Lennon, thats pretty much what he is
October 29, 201411 yr Egyptian Aaron Lennon, thats pretty much what he is Seeing as his whole game seems to consist of cutting inside and having a shot which comes nowhere near to going in I would liken him more to an Egyptian Andros Townsend.
October 29, 201411 yr I don't rate Salah as he's just a reactionary signing after impressive performances against us last season in the Champions League when he was playing FC Basel. I just think we didn't scout him hard enough and rather we based his performances for FC Basel against us as being the barometer of the type of player we expected him to be at the club. Sure he has some talent and he's quite a fast player in terms of his running abilities but he has too many weaknesses for me to be considered a high standard Chelsea player which would be expected from all our players these days. I wouldn't hesitate to sell him sooner rather than later to be honest and thankfully we didn't spend too much to obtain him in the first place.
