I thought he looked better yesterday than he did against QPR. His shooting was poor though, hopefully he puts that right against Liverpool.

One of the most frightening sentences I've read recently

I did wonder if Jose would give him some sort of unofficial winter break (rest him for a league game and some cups) but with Remy crocked, nah.

“He may be able to play (in) Chelsea’s next game against Liverpool (on Saturday) but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have some type of injury problem.”

 

Del Bosque added: “We have reached a decision with Chelsea’s medical staff that we will take a break due to his groin issues. It has nothing to do with whether he later plays for his club. He always wants to come with us, but we have spoken and this is the best for his health.”

Finally some common sense. It helps both Chelsea and Spain if Costa doesn't play during the next international break, he's no good to anyone if he is injured.

Fantastic news about him not being in Spain's squad. That would be music to our ears and of course Jose's!

Was brilliant watching him get stuck into anyone that came near him today, no better sight in football than someone playing with that sort of fire in their belly.

Lovely having a world class striker

Great to see Costa getting his composure back, can only lead to good things.

 

He is one booking away from a suspension though.
