Charly Musonda jr.

what a shame, another touted youngster turns out got too big for his boots and is pretty much sh*t now. Following the likes of our long list of youth failures that people thought was gonna be the next big thing.......

quite like musonda, he has had a horrible 18 months though.

He played okay when he was given a chance, great assist when he came on against brighton.

Its a shame he missed last season with injury, because i think he might have had an opportunity under frank this season, with injuries, and the ban.

Now i think his time is done here, he would have to have truly outstanding season at vitesse to even be considered.

One thing in his favour is that he is a winger, and we are going to need to replace Willian and Pedro in the next couple of years. If Musonda can kick on (doubtful as that may sound), and have one or two good seasons on loan, then who knows, he may well be in contention for a squad place somewhere down the line. Still only 22 ...

He needs to perform now because Willian & Pedro need replacing ASAP. It’s not going to happen, he has the billy big bollocks attitude and seems to think he’s made it to world class already. Back in reality he couldn’t even get in to the Celtic first team.

I agree with @Munkworth, He needs to have a season so good at vitesse, that club dont feel the need to sign a replacement for pedro or willian.

I dont think vitesse is a big enough platform for him to do that, so i can see him leaving permanently, when the new loan restrictions kick in next summer.

Sell with a buy out clause, and if he does start to fulfill his potential, he could be an astute homegrown signing 2 or 3 years down the line.

I feel like we should have been doing this long before. Clubs are always going to want to develop a talent they own more than a player they've got on loan. Plus the player actually has time to settle somewhere instead of just bouncing about to different locations.

Selling with a buy back clause to a decent team makes so much more sense than numerous loans.

One of the issues with Musonda is that he is not physically strong enough to play on loan in the Championship.  He's 5' 8" and 150 pounds.  He certainly isn't going to win any physical battles with Premier League defenders.  So where else was he going to go on loan?  Likely one of the reasons he gets hurt.

so taller than SWP, and an inch shorter than Salah,

The height thing isnt really an issue IMO but playing against more physical players will develop upper body strength.

Hes tiny, that's the point. He has no strength.

Personally I don't really like him. I wouldn't be upset if we sold him and then he turned out to be half decent. He rankles me somewhat. Seems overtly arrogant, expectant. I'd rather he be somewhere else

Not just the height.  It's the weight as well.  SWP or Hazard weren't very tall either, but Hazard was solid enough to not get knocked around.  If you thought Morata went down easy...…..

Wherever he is, he doesn't pass the eyeball test for me. Being short is one thing but being as skinny as he is means he can't play at the Prem. He won't even get past Reece James let alone any of the "robust" defenders

Where is he at? Anyone keeping tabs on him?

Yeah, Ive got his phone on tracker, he`s currently in a toilet in a MacDonald`s in Amsterdam.

He`s playing for Vitesse on loan isnt he?

Sterling. Pulisic. Jota. Bernardo Silva. David Silva just from this season alone.

By no means saying Musonda will have half the career as any of these players but its a strange reason to write a player off. The Prem in this day and age is more about smaller players than ever before.

All of those players you mentioned could at least somewhat compete physically in one way or another with the Prem's defenders. Musonda can't do that, it's clear to see why the players mentioned could thrive and why Musonda keeps being sent on loan.

Isn’t it time we cut him loose? Or actually use him as a squad player? No point to send him out on loan again next season.

Never in the squad. He's not a good player. I've said it time and time again, he's not premier league quality let alone Chelsea. There are better players in our academy

According to his Wikipedia profile, he's only played 4 times for Vitesse this season. Hardly setting the Dutch league on fire.

Please elaborate how those players can compete more than Musonda? None of them are stronger or taller as was mentioned above as a reason to write him off.
