Those three points could be massive. That's a very big "aside from".

December 1, 201411 yr Usually I'm nervous throughout the season with Chelsea but this one I get so nervous ahead of every game, anyone else getting this or just me? Desperate for Mourinho to succeed here again and see us win it after five years.
December 1, 201411 yr Usually I'm nervous throughout the season with Chelsea but this one I get so nervous ahead of every game, anyone else getting this or just me? Desperate for Mourinho to succeed here again and see us win it after five years. It's such a hard league. Every team is good except Liverpool. We have the best team so there's pressure to win, but winning isn't easy.
December 1, 201411 yr Apart from Southampton, all our main rivals were victorious so it hasn't been a good weekend overall but in saying that there's no need for us to panic and a win against Tottenham in the mid-week would alleviate all those fears some might have at the present time. I think Man City has established itself as our main challenger now after an impressive win against Southampton. Southampton has a few tough games coming up so you wonder how they'll cope and whether they can remain in the top 4 come the end of December. Bring on December!
December 1, 201411 yr Brendan getting it out there that Slippery Steve has been offered a new deal. If you read between the lines and the reasons Brendan has come out publicly to say it, it sounds like his wages have been cut massively and he is testing his resolve. "Firstly in terms of the club the latest is that Steven Gerrard and his representatives have been offered a contract here and at this moment in time that's where it's at," says Rodgers. "It certainly won't be money. I've spoken to him enough times at length and that won't be the case. Between now and the end of the season he deserves the opportunity to think."
December 1, 201411 yr I don't know if I can see Gerrard accepting it. I think in his heart of hearts, he believes his made a mistake with staying there for so long. He will walk away from Liverpool with not a lot to show for it. He has been the orchestrator of that squad for a long time now, and he's probably fed. However, who is going to buy him now? He has left it 5 years too late to leave.
December 1, 201411 yr Man City will sign him. Via New York or whoever it is in Australia. City may never actually pay for a player again.

Southampton are not and were never a challenger. They had a relatively easy run and their best win was probably away to West Ham or Swansea. Man City beating them is not a surprise nor is it a sign of their resurgence.
December 1, 201411 yr The reaction to this weekends results has been ridiculous, Way over the top, Just go onto the daily mails football online website and read the headline, All of a sudden the team that was supposedly unbeatable according to these same feckers is now going to crumble.
December 1, 201411 yr We could always sign Gerrard and give him the number 8 shirt. A few years too late... Imagine the mass shirt burnings, you'd be able to see Liverpool from space!

December 1, 201411 yr Institutional racism at Liverpool? First we have the Suarez - Evra incident and now this from Balotelli http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/players/mario-balotelli/11266758/Mario-Balotelli-risks-racism-and-anti-Semitism-storm-over-Instagram-post.html Certainly anti-semitic sentiments...he could be about to land in big trouble...
December 1, 201411 yr Even so, the authorities have such a low tolerance threshold for players putting things like that into the public domain I'd be surprised if he doesn't face a FA charge.
December 2, 201411 yr At least the last few days have put the Lampard v Gerrard argument to bed. Man City are doing their upmost to keep 36 year old Lampard for longer than the loan period and Liverpool are trying to offload 34 year old Gerrrard off to America! And that is after we look at Frank and Steven's respective personal trophy cabinets Edited December 2, 201411 yr by londonblue

Man City beating them is not a surprise nor is it a sign of their resurgence. Fair point and I never considered Southampton to be a title challengers but so far they look worthy of being top 4 challengers though, but now will be the true test if they can match it with the big sides. They failed on the weekend but it's too early to say that they're gone already. Man City are always going to be challengers even if they hadn't won on the weekend. They struggled at the start of last season and grinded out results before winning the title at the end of the season. Via New York or whoever it is in Australia. City may never actually pay for a player again. It's Melbourne City in Australia. Anyway, I agree this is starting to become a joke! Edited December 2, 201411 yr by Jezz
December 2, 201411 yr Barcelona will ditch the stripes from next year and wear hoops on the shirt, From having sponsor names on their shirts to signing Suarez and now this, The so called classy club that was an institution is now just another club. Edited December 2, 201411 yr by Kinkladze1871

Why are they doing that? Maybe Messi loves spaghetti hoops so they're doing it to try and appease him.
