December 8, 201411 yr I did remind them about the draws to which ny mate said I was been prattish cause I hate them. Its true I hate that club but that team was obviously a special team I've admitted as much. It just wasn't as good as they make it out to be and they weren't Invincible or Unbeatable.
December 8, 201411 yr People talk about the title race without aguero forget that they won the league last season when we were depleted too. They had a superior team to us last season, yet they nearly lost out to Liverpool. I couldn't give a sh*t if we win the league with aguero out. Last season we helped them to win the league as they almost bottled it big time, so now it's time we had a fee things go our way as well. They also have lampard who's scored some crucial goals for them already to keep them in this title race too. Edited December 8, 201411 yr by enigma

December 8, 201411 yr Nevermind the invincibles, Madrid have just recorded 19 wins in a row. That is the standard we need and the measuring stick we should be using.

I think we'll easily dispatch of them when they visit the bridge in January. As for now, worrying about the smaller teams and remaining motivated for these sorts of matches should be our priority, we shouldn't have drawn with Sunderland but I suppose these things happen. Obtaining W's against these sorts of sides are where titles are won. Hopefully, we can record wins this winter period and see where City will be come January.

December 8, 201411 yr People forget the invincible arsenal team had a fair bit of luck as well as talent...ie...van nistelrooy hitting the bar with a penalty

Have you seen the financial inbalance that exists in La Liga ? I'm not sure these figures are entirely accurate but they certainly aren't far off the mark. Real Madrid and Barcelona are creaming off huge amounts in tv revenue, leaving the clubs below them to feed off the crumbs. In the Premier League the revenue is spread far more equally, which is a good thing. http://public.tableausoftware.com/profile/jonboeckenstedt#!/vizhome/LaLiga-EPLBroadcastRevenue/TVMoneySpread 19 wins in a row mean jack all when you have no real competition. It's like the Spl in that respect.

It's the equivalent of an everton winning the league in England I would dare say and that might be doing it a disservice.

December 8, 201411 yr RE: the Invincibles, it is incumbent on me to remind all and sundry, whenever possible, that Pires dived to "win" a penalty against Portsmouth, during that run. Earning Arsenal a very undeserved draw...Therefore their invincibility is null and void (according to me)

December 8, 201411 yr Aguero going to be out for at least a month, brilliant. Great footballer but total twat, one of the most ridiculous decisions in PL history that he didn't get sent off for that two footed stamp on Luiz's ass.

December 8, 201411 yr Honest to god thought that Claude was going to swing for the merchandise mannequin for a moment there. Even his glasses are from the Arsenal Megastore I swear.
December 8, 201411 yr Aguero going to be out for at least a month, brilliant. Great footballer but total twat, one of the most ridiculous decisions in PL history that he didn't get sent off for that two footed stamp on Luiz's ass. Technically it was the FA Cup
December 8, 201411 yr Looks impressive. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2862372/Manchester-City-reveal-new-200m-Etihad-Campus-finest-training-facility-world.html The only reason I am envious of northern teams, is due to the lack of council intervention and land space to expand on.
December 8, 201411 yr Aguero going to be out for at least a month, brilliant. Great footballer but total twat, one of the most ridiculous decisions in PL history that he didn't get sent off for that two footed stamp on Luiz's ass. He also stamped on a player a few weeks ago and got away with it. I don't believe all this crap about Aguero being an honest player, he has a nasty side to his game at times.
December 8, 201411 yr Where's this news about Aguero come from? I've still not seen anything other than the original knee problem - set to miss the Roma game story on the BBC. I'd have expected any confirmation to be headline news, even if it is only for four weeks. Also, I don't think City dropping into the UEFA cup will make any difference. From previous experience they will, if looking unlikely to qualify for the CL knockout stage, throw the game properly to finish fourth or even if they end up third, they'll throw the first UEFA cup match as they have absolutely no interest in it whatsoever. It's probably best for our league title chances if they continue in the CL.
December 8, 201411 yr They're not gonna throw the towel in they want to qualify. They know a win will do that.
December 8, 201411 yr They're not gonna throw the towel in they want to qualify. They know a win will do that. Agreed. I meant that if say with 10 minutes to go City were losing or drawing and the other result meant that City had no chance of qualifying but could still finish third, they'd probably then chuck in the towel and lose if that meant avoiding finishing third and the UEFA cup. To be honest, I have no idea if that is even a possible scenario. But I'm sure they basically did that a year or two back. Not 'officially' of course.
December 8, 201411 yr I just want City to progress in Europe. I don't care if it's the Champions League or Europa League. I highly doubt they'll win it, while it would make things more difficult for them later in the season. Edited December 8, 201411 yr by RichardCFC
December 8, 201411 yr Here's how the convo ended with me and my so called mate: Gooner: Well it's widely documented and acknowledged as Arsenals invincible season & I happen to share that view. Your entitled to your opinion and we've established that in the gospel according to Bob a season is measured by all competitions that season. We can go round the houses but I'll never be swayed and nor will you. Me: Documented by the media and DVDs. If you think that makes a team invincible factually you are incorrect as a season is measured by the competitions you are in not just one. The title invincibles or unbeatables is a fabrication of the media. You lost games therefore you were not unbeatable or invincible. Gooner: Where is your factual evidence to support your definition then? Me: That fact that during that season your team lost in the Cups, Shield and CLs. That team lost matches. Therefore they were not unbeatable or invincible. Gooner: That is the biggest load of bollocks I've ever heard. Ciao for now. Me: How you can not understand that they weren't unbeatable is beyond me. You clearly have no answer to the fact that that very team lost on several occasions. Nice of you to keep it respectful aswell Mate.
