April 23, 201511 yr http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32437970 "Do I expect to be manager next season? Very much so, yes. I don't think there's anyone better," "That's the reality of how I see it. Three months ago I was a tactical genius, performing to a good level. "We lost a couple of games, some important games, and now you're not so good. But that is football, that's what will happen, people will speculate." "There will always be people linked with this job because it's such a great club," Rodgers added.
April 23, 201511 yr lol lol faaakinn lol just seen his 'no one better' quote, hhhhhaaaaaaaaahaaaha...ha....
April 23, 201511 yr I knew he had said something like this "no one better" line before - check this from last December http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30454974
April 23, 201511 yr Any excuse for a bit of Carly. He'll be saying he's Bond next. Edited April 23, 201511 yr by Droogba
April 23, 201511 yr Rodgers needs to be intensively trained by Michael Owen to be verbally boring; whenever he opens his mouth he sticks his foot in it. Genius???!!!!?!??!!????!?!?!!??? Out-thought by 'Tactics Tim' Sherwood...
April 24, 201511 yr He has decided to win over the dressing room by calling his players "tools" - unless of course he means he has a spanner missing..... "I am super ambitious in terms of wanting to win and there will be no greater place to do that than here, but of course in modern football there are lots of processes that go on behind the scenes that people will never be aware of. ""In terms of what we are trying to do, I do not see anyone better in terms of the hand we were given. When I came in the team was eighth. We implemented a philosophy that was exciting and won games and unexpectedly qualified for the Champions League. We've got to two cup semi-finals [this season], one of which we have not performed well in. "The plan here and the focus is to be consistent winners; not to be 'nearly men'. We do not want that label. I will fight for my life, as I have said before, to be here and if I can get the tools here to help us we can be really successful."
April 24, 201511 yr Rodgers: I've had talks with #LFC owners - I have their full support. But sack may come without progress next year http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/rodgers-spoke-liverpool-fc-owners-9114766
April 24, 201511 yr I wish there was a manager who used revolutionary rhetoric, condemning the "reactionary" opposition, "obscurantist" ruling bodies, calling his team a "manifestation of the people's will" and talking about five-year plans and such. It would make for some great entertainment...

But sack may come without progress next year http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/rodgers-spoke-liverpool-fc-owners-9114766 Would progress for them mean getting back in the CL? Or does he gave to win a trophy? I honestly think he'll be sacked come Christmas

When he uses the word "I" he follows up with a positive, but when he uses the words "we" "we've" they are followed by negatives.
April 25, 201511 yr I think it could come in the summer. Look at the Moyes situation at United. I think they sacked him, when they did, because they didn't trust him to buy the right players with any new war chest. With Brendan's transfer record to date, will they trust him over the summer?
April 28, 201511 yr Great article in the Mirror this morning, this line caps it all: “It’s a mark of how the club has moved forward that there’s such disappointment we weren’t challenging this year." http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-title-challengers-next-year-5593577 Edited April 28, 201511 yr by NorthernMonkey
April 28, 201511 yr What a load of crap on the "wage bill reflects league position" too. Yes, Liverpool are 5th in both, but if that were true, the league table would be: City, Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool ...
April 28, 201511 yr “It’s a mark of how the club has moved forward that there’s such disappointment we weren’t challenging this year." Give me strength.
April 28, 201511 yr “It’s a mark of how the club has moved forward that there’s such disappointment we weren’t challenging this year." Subtly implying that Liverpool were a ragtag of Europa League level no-hopers before he turned up, brilliant. The man's clearly a genius.
April 28, 201511 yr Shearer pointed something good out on Sunday about how they wasted their Champions League summer. It was a crucial summer for them and the chance to bring in top quality players because for once they were in the Champions League. And even then at that time they failed to bring in Alexis Sanchez who chose Arsenal over them. So it's only going to get harder for them to bring in the best of players really. I don't like Brendan but I think he is a good manager despite being very naive in the big games. His stubbornness reminds me of AVB, it is a good thing to have but it really does hit you at times in the big games when you refuse to alter the strict philosophy. His signings have been awful, not sure he is at fault for over paying for them but the targets aren't good enough. They need a good director of football who will make better signings suited to Brendan's ways. I think they would be stupid to sack him, however if they could get their hands on Klopp, perhaps it wouldn't be so stupid after-all. Although I would be really surprised if Klopp went there.
April 28, 201511 yr Bringing in Balotelli was a daft move too, he has never been the type of player who runs around working hard for the team week in week out like Suarez was. So why they thought he was a good replacement I don't know.
April 28, 201511 yr Bringing in Balotelli was a daft move too, he has never been the type of player who runs around working hard for the team week in week out like Suarez was. So why they thought he was a good replacement I don't know. It's not like he hasn't got previous, in fact his attitude was apparent at a few clubs, surely any right minded Manager would have seen that. Not sure who they’ll get in the summer either, they need a striker but will probably end up getting an average one from Europe.
April 28, 201511 yr I actually think Rodgers pulled the daftest man management move the other day. You don't say "we need a new striker" when people know it. What you is you back Balotelli and you try to talk him into giving his all for the team in this final run in. Just another reason why Rodgers will never make a great manager.
April 28, 201511 yr Did he mention "character" in his pre-match interview? http://www1.skysports.com/iframe/widget/video/dzZzBzdDrVdvKDPNIB329oZ0mKG_z0wO#ooid=dzZzBzdDrVdvKDPNIB329oZ0mKG_z0wO Well, what do you think?
April 28, 201511 yr I love this thread because there's very little actual hatred for the man, like there undoubtedly is in the Mourinho threads of opposition forums. We just laugh at his cringe-worthy interviews and inept tactics. Not hatred, more contempt or disdain.
