I blame anti-semitism and all those w**ker fans who just can’t resist singing certain songs. If it wasn’t for that we wouldn’t have been over there.

Hard to argue that point, spot on.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has seen a specialist today (Thursday) and will have surgery on his ruptured Achilles’ tendon this evening.

The Chelsea midfielder left the pitch during the second half of yesterday’s game in Boston, USA.

FFS the player I was looking forward to see next season, we won't see him again until 20/21 season

Me too, gutted for the lad most of all, as well as all of us who have enjoyed watching him progress.

Cruel twist of fate him and CHO both break through in the same season and both go down to the same long term injury.

I don't intend to cause any controversy here, but how does raising money in a friendly football match prevent anti-Semitic chants? There are also other religious and racial groups that are subjected to far more discrimination than Jewish people are, why not dedicate this match to racism and discrimination in general instead of just singling out one group?

Our owner is Jewish, there is a long term issue at our club to do with Anti-Semitic chants and how we reference Spurs in songs involving it, and has been something the club in general has been trying to do something about.

Roman has paid for fans to go to Germany to witness some of the atrocities the Nazi party and Hitler put the Jewish people through. He has long tried to bring the issue to the forefront, and this was another step on that road. How effective it will prove to be remains to be seen.

oh my f**king god. He's finally breaking into the team then this happens.

And when he comes back the ban will be lifting and we'll be signing someone too expensive to not play in his place

Papers saying that Ruben could be out for 12 months as his injury is apparently worse than CHO.

Awful if true.

I've seen comments saying CHO's injury is bad enough  for there to be serious doubt he'll ever get back to full pace and fitness. If that is true and Loftus injury being even worse??  then we might well be looking at the unthinkable,  and no need to say what that is...sob

Sh*te news. Leaves us in so much trouble for next season as well so this is basically a huge kick in the nuts.

Laughable that the club had the audacity to send out an email titled "Boston trip proves to be a fantastic success" just earlier today after this farce.

The RLC injury is a big miss for Arsenal.

I am extremely disappointed that we allowed him to play this match. Sarri has said previously that he does need rest from time to time, so WTF happened?

This is what RLC and CHO are up against. FFS.

What I got from that article is he will most likely make a full recovery and be back before the new year. Sounds like a positive to me. There are extreme cases where the recovery period lasts longer and the player never fully heals, but I'm going to be optimistic.

He'll need months to get back to real match-fitness and sharpness though so for me next season is a bit of a write-off. Even if he makes a "quick" recovery and can start training again late december.

And while he's a big miss for Arsenal we are in even bigger trouble for next season. We'll already be without a single real goalscorer in the entire team and now we have lost our one goalscoring midfielder..

From what I have been reading on a number of articles and journals, a third of athletes never fully recover physically then there are those whom do not overcome it mentally due to the fear of it happening again, so pace and agility are compromised. I always try to be half glass full but in these instances am feeling pretty down about this, is like a curse, two academy graduates, our best two since Terry and now this? This is going to be a long hard rehabilitation for these wonderful kids and I wish them all the very best, am just gutted for them, the club and our fans.

I also noticed far more injuries this season we are normally very good with injuries, I wonder if the managers training is not suited to a schedule as busy as the PL hopefully if it’s the case he will adjust accordingly next season.

I haven't been keeping count but it seems that way to me as well, even without the long-term injuries to CHO and RLC. I read that Conte's training was very intense so maybe the players were a little bit fitter under him. There's a lot of chance involved with injuries but obviously the stronger and fitter the players are the lower the probability of them getting injured.

We have done pretty well with injuries these past years in comparison to sick note clubs such as FC Woolwich Wanderers, however all of a sudden we are having issues. Surely this must have something to do with training and everything that goes on around it. We were one of the best teams for keeping our squad fit.

The point has been made that this injury could have happened any time, and even pre-season. Looking at that pitch I would agree in that respect. However we have just finished a long league season and we knew that Ruben's minutes still needed to be managed carefully. With that in mind surely somebody at the club could have made a valid case to have him sit this one out?

I really wish the management to be held responsible for this but we all know it doesn't work like that around here

I really, really hope we begin next season with a new owner.

FWIW, I don't think Roman was the one that came up with the schedule. he might be the one that initiated the friendly, but I doubt he worked on the detail of the schedule. probably falls under the responsibility of the CEO and his team

I don't believe there is a single major decision taken at the club without Roman's say so. The board are just puppets.
