Cuadrado - Chelsea's #23

Featured Replies

Total waste of money, should have been shifted, if at all possible ... I think Jose was trying to save face by keeping him but now realises he is a lost cause.

Not read previous posts but want to add something to this.

It is clear Cuadrado isn't really in JM plans. Wasn't even on the bench for the opener. Surely we are better off taking what we can get, now. If it means we take a £8-£10m hit so be it. Everyone makes mistakes. His value is only going to decrease as the season goes, with him not featuring much.So better off with £15 now, than struggling to offload next year.

Would also like to add, he is up there with one of the worst players I have seen play for Chelsea in this era (post RA). No composure, or even quality for that matter. I'd like to know who suggested and pushed for the signing.

Give the lad a chance. Remember Lamps wasn't that good to start with, he just needs a few seasons to get going, obviously our youngsters must be pants if Cuadrado is in the squad.

Drogba either, full season of poor performances

He had a few good performances in his first season and did a lot of donkey work he didn't get credit for. Cuadadro hasn't looked good once,

don't forget Lampard wasn't too good either. Perhaps we need to give him a bit of quality time out there, I'm sure José didn't spend millions if the guy is hopeless...?he looks blinding on some Ytube vids...

He didn't look hopeless though, I just don't think Cuadadro is a Premier League player. I would like to be proven wrong though.

I don't think he should be given anymore chances because it'll cost us points, basically too risky to play him. We should give players like Traore and Kenedy chances instead of him. He looks like Ali Dia on the ball -- like we just plucked some random fan from the street and told him to play top level football. Honestly, even in the lower leagues, I've never seen a player so bad. And what's annoying is that he just lacks the will to put in the work as in he doesn't hustle. Ok, it's understandable your sh*t, but at least can you hustle and work for the ball.

Lampard was 23 and looked a promising young footballer when he got here. He wasnt great and he was a little rough around the edges but you could see his intelligence on the pitch, the way he timed his run his vision for a pass. Now Cuadrado is 27 and he cant pass, cant control the ball, has no idea were anyone is on the pitch least of all his teammates, is a poor finisher, doesnt seem to have it in him to cross the ball and he has no strength (like literally nothing). He is in way, way over his head in this league. His situation is literally nothing like Lampards.

Every time he gets given the chance he looks terrible, basically its like playing with 10 players. So its not easy to "give him a chance" especially when the PL is so competetive.

Not sure why he came on to the field today. I mean if Jose was serious about it, surely Remy is more likely to get a goal. I remember Salah's last cameo was against Spurs when all was lost, I could spot a bit of similarities there.

What chances has Cuadrado been given?

A few 30mins in games as a last resort, or being the first guy to be subbed off after half time?

He does seem to put in the hard work (his work rate is evident not just here but his time in Fiorentina), makes the decent runs and puts in quality balls yet the rest of the players just don't make use of him or respond to what he does. In the end, it's him who ends up looking like ****. Like there was a cross from deep that he put in for Costa today, it was absolutely perfect for him to attack, landed about a yard in front of him unmarked in the box. Except he just stood there and watch it bounce and go by. It was pure laziness, maybe because he had given up on the game at that point. How can you expect players like Cuadrado to impress when he's only put on when everyone else has given up?

Could be tried at RB -- was good there for Fiorentina

He never played RB for Fiorentina, he played wingback in a 3-5-2, big difference.

We cant really afford to give Cuadrado chances. He is so poor every time he gets them it just cant be justified. Its like playing with ten men and we cant do that for 3-4 games in a trot hoping he suddenly turn out to be a good player.

Jose completely f**ked up on this signing ... I suspect it was his choice?

He shouldn't be anywhere near the first team ... It has been clear for all to see.

Dropping an in-form Moses for a complete waste of space doesn't sit well with me ...

Jose FFS ... how obvious does it have to be?

What is your point in even trying to defend him here? Play him at RB? That'd be a complete insult to the other defenders just because we'd be trying to fit him in to the team and giving him a spot that he doesn't deserve.
