Cuadrado - Chelsea's #23

Featured Replies

Jose completely f**ked up on this signing ... I suspect it was his choice?

I read it was Michael Emenalo behind the signing of Cuadrado as a replacement for Salah.

We don't know what role Jose had in the signing, or at what stage he was consulted.

But it smacks of a Board signing to me.

I've read that we make signings in committees anyway. These committees usually consist of scouts, coaches, DoF, assistant manager, and the manager himself. It doesn't make any sense to blame one man such as Emenalo or Mourinho. The entire club should take blame for making such a poor signing.

I'm sure Jose would like it this way. When signings go well - Fabregas, Matic, Costa - they ARE Jose signings.

When they go not so well (or are disastrous) - Salah, Luis, Falcao, Cuadrado, then it's down to the committee!!

Yeah me saying Nasri is better than Oscar is outrageous how dare i.

Haha, some people on here still think Oscar is gonna somehow magically turn world class. Why? because he had pre-season with us! Just like Cuadrado, he only needed a pre-season with us to reach his true potential!

who the hell did the scouting for him? i would like to know what they saw. it really is crazy now, surely the italian league isn't that much different that cuadrado is standing out as a world beater.

Cuadrado never looked a world bester in Italy. Many on here were very sceptical when we signed him

I, as most of us do, take compilation videos with a pinch of salt when checking out new signings.

But upon watching Cuadrado's youtube highlights I remember commenting that it was the most underwhelming one i'd ever seen, and nearly every highlight was a video of him running in behind a high line, of which we face virtually none in the premier league.

I mean, I don't think Cuadrado is a bad footballer, he's pretty good, but he just doesn't suit the way we play, or the premier league, i reckon if he went to spain or back to italy he'd do quite well though. It would be mutually beneficial if he was sold I feel, and i wouldnt have any hard feelings against him, he's just not the right fit.

I totally agree with that.

I feel Oscar will have a few good performance but after Cheismass his form will drop again. It happened already 2 times. First there was excuse with Wold Cup then preseason. I'm not sure what's the problem with him. I know not too many players can be excellent during entire season but with Oscar drop in form is too drastic.

It's a bit of a lie though. Last season most of the squad were pretty bad in the second half of the season, and we never improved when Oscar was left out or subbed, suggesting he isn't the problem. He's also put in a few notable performances in Jan/Feb of both of the last 2 seasons, some of which I've been at (Stoke FA cup, Swansea ect.), that's deep in winter and into the second half of the season. And referring to stats from a few months back in the Oscar thread, it is certain that he has a very unique role for a #10 and is probably in the most difficult job of any attacker at a top club. He basically has to provide decent output while acting as an auxiliary DM. He, like Matic, are driven into the ground by a lack of depth and a defensive philosophy.

I suppose the difference is Oscar has actually shown world class talent and ability in a CFC shirt. Oscar just needs to add consistency to his game where as we'd need a calculator for all the additions Cuadrado requires.

Why take a player from another club when we have moses, traore and kenedy? Makes no sense to constantly want to buy players and not use what we have.

Anyway, what is happening with him? Is cuadrado being sold? If wr can recoup the money paid for him or make a couple mil loss, then that wouldn't be bad at all.

Completely agree about using the ample choices we already have.

In our hypothetical world, I would replace Juan with one of them.

Honestly, if we sell him I hope we put it toward a CM and CB rather than buying a new RM. Between Traore, Moses and Willian we should be fine
