Patrick Bamford - Back at Chelsea?

Featured Replies

so many good players in our reserves, nice headache to have for our management.

It would be a headache for any other club, we just seem so adamant they won't get a proper look in.

Rumour is he's off to QPR on loan until the end of the season presumably as Charlie Austin's replacement.

Well QPR have just signed Conor Washington from Peterborough so I don't know if Bamford will go there now.

The fact is bamford couldn't get in a palace side that had average strikers who could barely score, so I'm not sure why he would get into our team.

He is a great finisher but to be honest i do think he lacks the "complete package" to be a Chelsea-striker. Lacks pace and physique i believe.

Can see him turning into a bit of a Jordan Rhodes to be honest. Which would be a pretty good career for the lad but just lacking that littlebit extra to become a good PL striker.

Yes but he had Alan bloody Pardew as manager. This guy played Hayden Mullins instead of Javier Mascherano at West Ham.

Norwich want to buy him outright and we want a buy back clause. Sounds like a deal to me. Set Bamfordinho free.

Its probably his only chance, away from Chelsea

There appears to be no plan for academy players or

young prospects that other clubs would & have promoted

into their 1st teams with a certain amount of success.

Guus alluded to they need playing time, but why not the best of them with Chelsea.

Let's face it sacking Jose was a sham - we can see by the 1st teams continual issues (no defeats but only 2 wins in prem) that whomever is really managing that group of players is the same mug calling the shots in u 21s and all the levels below, especially when it comes to transfer business. Just my opinion, no factual evidence but the decisions made are baffling, like giving Ivan a year, selling Luis back to AM, Salah, dud rado (& on & on).

Think we may be in for a few seasons of toil & pain on the pitch to get back from where the club finds itself now flirting with the drop. Worst team in London now, that's what really smarts.

As for Bamford signed from Forest as a teenager and his career has not panned out, in hindsight he should of stayed and developed more. Hope he gets the move to Norwich.

I agree with all your other points,I think first team recruitment in particular is being poorly managed.

But I think up to this season Bamford was being well handled and him being voted Championship player of the year last season is testament to that.

Okay the Palace loan didn't work out but the plan was for him to try and get Premier League experience and he wanted to go to a London side because he wanted to settle in the city with a view to being best prepared when returning to Chelsea.

But now we've sacked another manager youth development again goes on the back burner.

Facts are the likes of Terry wouldnt have got a sniff of the 1st team if he was just starting out now, how are we ever going to know if Bamford is good enough or not if he doesnt get a chance? look at Harry Kane for whatever reason he got a chance at Spurs & is now deemed to be a future England regular.

I wouldnt mind Pochettino coming here from Spurs, his teams play good football, he gives youth players a chance & he knows the PL, whether that'd work at Chelsea i dont know given our track record in recent years but again until they try we'll never know.

Wherever he ends up I wish him every success - unlike Harry Kane I don't get the impression he can handle the physical side of the game, and lacks genuine pace to compensate.

If we do sell i'd prefer if we'd wait until the summer, he may be useful if we end up in the championship next season.
