September 22, 201510 yr What winds me up the most is that Gabriel has got off with nothing, he got involved and petulantly kicked Costa. In reality it's all handbags of course but I don't understand how the FA can justify rescinding the red card when what he did was CLEARLY against the rules. Justify? The FA? Are you on drugs? ;) Edited September 22, 201510 yr by undertow

September 22, 201510 yr To be brutally honest, Costa deserves it. He is a very dirty player and now that he doesn't score anymore I'd rather have a clean Torres than a dirty Costa. I don't like the way Costa plays at all. Silly fouls, silly antics, antagonising everyone and while he's at it not even producing anything of note with the ball at his feet. Hopefully, Falcao can show some good form! Edited September 22, 201510 yr by PythonLu

Mcallister sat in for Brenda tonight so I'm sure its not breaking any rules.
September 22, 201510 yr If José can't handle a press conference after some controversy then it's time for him to hang up his cones and retire.
September 22, 201510 yr What a flippin joke! When was the last time we actually got away with something? Seems like they have a completely different set of rules when it comes to dealing with us.
September 22, 201510 yr If José can't handle a press conference after some controversy then it's time for him to hang up his cones and retire. I think he can handle it but what with Eva Canary leaving as well, the snidey f*cks in the media will be out to cause trouble.
September 22, 201510 yr I still expect José to handle it. Hiding behind Steve Holland would make him look weak. He can take it and he can be charming and witty in return. Time for him to show his best side again.
September 22, 201510 yr Unsurprisingly, many of you on here fail to accept my disinterested and objective observations on Costa v Arsenal. Looks like those other independently minded chaps over at the FA insofar as he is concerned, agree with me. I'd say he'll get a ban, which is well deserved. It'll be interesting to see if he is capable of moderating his behaviour now to avoid such unpleasantness in the future. The irony of it all is he's now likely to be a marked man. Instead of in future being the agent provocateur par excellence, it's likely the boot will be on the other foot with opponents trying to target his fragile temperament. Hmmmmm................. LOL independently minded LOL. They sure are, independently minded towards their own agendas. Any fan of the sport will readily tell you what a joke the FA are, except maybe MUFC and LFC who have just gotten too much in return from them. Are you suggesting the FA have developed some kind of hatred for Chelsea and are using their powers to unjustly punish them? Or are you being a tad paranoid? You mean the same FA that, when Terry was found not guilty of racism in a court of law, had a rule about legal courts verdicts standing when the FA were looking at the exact same case? Oh, thatd be the same FA who then re-wrote those rules and then applied them retroactively in order to charge and ban Terry, something forbidden by the FA rules when that court verdict was made. So, yes.

September 22, 201510 yr Costa deserves the red? Ok thats fine. But Gabriel has got away with a blatant attempt to kick a player. The amount of contact should have no bearing on the outcome as the intention was to hit costa. Very strange from the FA. But i would take a fighting Costa serving a 3 match ban once a season to a meek Torres sat on his knees begging the referee for help before looking around defeated. People seem to have forgot the major part he played last season. He is violent and he kicks out and gets aggressive but we knew that before he came to us anyway. We need a warrior and a fighter, someone who isn't afraid to get down and dirty and we have that in Costa. Lets not pretend that Drogba had his flaws. I am sure it annoyed everyone how he would spend minutes at a time on the floor going down over the softest touch yet if it wasn't for that same 'habit' we wouldn't have defeated Barca in the Semi-final of the champions league 2012.
September 22, 201510 yr Remember Torres got a 3 game vs Swansea for a off the floor tackle - even though he didn't touch the man. They said intent was there and that was enough to ban him. Double standards by the FA.
September 22, 201510 yr The current 3 match ban with the card has been rescinded, and he still has a charge of 'improper conduct' pending. So he most likely will get a 2 match ban for that. FA could have done themselves a favour and announced all this together. (for the arsenal defender gabriel) Edited September 22, 201510 yr by MANoWAR
September 22, 201510 yr All this fighting just covers up his poor form. Goal against Maccabi aside, he's been awful so far this season, so much breaks down when the ball reaches him, he looks slow and clumsy and doesn't shoot when the opportunity arises, instead taking too many touches or passing responsibility off to someone else. He needs the cut the sh*t and focus on actually playing well and scoring goals, that's what he's paid to do.
September 22, 201510 yr From the Chelsea website: Chelsea Football Club has released the following statement following a decision by the FA Regulatory Commission. The statement reads: 'We are extremely disappointed with the FA Regulatory Commission's decision to suspend Diego Costa. We will await their written reasons before commenting further.'
September 22, 201510 yr ARSENAL FAN HERE. Some of you lot are really something else. FA bias against Chelsea eh? L.M.A.O. I suppose Mike Dean never got the memo then. Open your eyes ffs, Costa is nothing more than a dirty, cheating, wind up merchant. Literally everyone (including your own player Zouma, bless him) but Chelsea fans sees this clear as day. Fair play to the few of you who admitted that Costa is dirty. The rest of you....lol. I guess his antics towards Koscielny (two handed slap to the face, one handed swipe to the face, chest pump) were somehow completely legal in your world. Those wimps over at Arsenal eh. Oh and all the match goers, please keep chanting Diego Diego Diego everytime Costa stamps on someone shins, spits on them, slaps them in the face, headbutts them, scratches them like a rabid feline etc. etc. like you've been doing. It helps the football world identify what type of people are supporting your club. This isn't directed to all of you, saw some very reasonable posts here.

The amount of contact should have no bearing on the outcome as the intention was to hit costa. Very strange from the FA. . It's a lunatic, scandalous decision to overturn the red card. Costa's ban fits in with the established pattern of a witch hunt against our players, but it is at least justifiable based on the evidence. This is the second red they have had overturned. Two years ago, Gibbs' card was rescinded due to mistaken identity. Absolutely correct, but it was shocking that it wasn't transferred to the Ox for his deliberate handball.. The intent to deny us a goal by cheating was undeniable, but he wasn't punished because the ball was going narrowly wide. The intent to kick Costa was a undeniable, too, but they seem to have let him off because there was minimal or zero contact. Both decisions stink to high heaven.
September 22, 201510 yr Hello, good evening and welcome. Good night ARSENAL fan. Edited September 22, 201510 yr by Droogba
September 22, 201510 yr I hope chels are fuming tbh We cant let this shift our focus but I really hope they are looking at this very carefully. No doubts about it, The FA clearly have it in for us, And are doing all they can to screw us out of silverware imo

(for the arsenal defender gabriel) Why the hell didn't they deal with both charges at the same time? There's zero chance of a ban for the misconduct charge.

I'm not really fussed about what you have to say about Costa as you don't watch him week in week out and don't see all the abuse he receives by the opposition defenders every game, and attacking fans for supporting one of their players is laughable. But I will ask do you think Gabriel should have been red carded? and do you think his ban should have been rescinded? and whether Costa should have seen red is irrelevant to this question and I don't think you will see many fans complain too much that he got a 3 match ban, as it isn't an unfair judgement, his antics were worth a few yellow cards at the least, having said that if you filmed most players for the 90 minutes to see all the niggles they make on opposition players most players would rack up a few incidences but I suppose as an arsenal fan you are more than knowledgeable on this side of the game as you are one of the dirtiest sides in BPL history. September 22, 201510 yr People are saying Costa also deserved a yellow for waving an imaginary yellow, which is fair enough. But isn't the Wenger and media clamour for a red for Costa exactly the same thing as what they are saying is wrong when Costa waves the imaginary card?
